Rathbone is still injured unfortunately.

Hilly was critical of Olly for playing with an injury a few weeks back but suggested that he was back in full training....perhaps the injury was worse than expected. Do like the young lad's tenacity...the sort of player needed in a dog fight slog.

Walsall never touched the ball in the first 3 minutes up to the goal. We have been on the front foot from the off. Goal came from a corner. EEL jumped for it, then it came down & he hit it into the top corner from about 6 yards Encouraging start

All Dale at the moment and some good sustained attacking. Helped by some atrocious passing by Walsall. Reckon we need a second before half time before they regroup

Horrible goal to concede. Gave the ball away on the halfway line, close to the touch line. Their player then runs all the way unchallenged from there & slots it home They have looked really poor, but you switch off once & that’s what you get.

1-1 at half time. Disappointing as we were dominant for the 1st 20 and on equal terms for the next 25 or so. Maglaughlin having a great game as is EEL. Jim has been solid to. Their number 16 up front looks a danger, big strong and fast. Will be interesting to see the substitutions. Calvin hasn’t been great so perhaps a chance for Pike? Just hope we dont start to play for a point as Walsall only looked good when we gifted them the goal Big 45 minutes coming up

It's been a worrying facet of our play sometimes this season and last …… just letting a player run at us without offering a challenge, even when we are not outnumbered in a break. We need someone to either make that challenge or a shout to someone else to get stuck in. That bite is one of the things that's missing from this team but was present when we were challenging for a play off place. I hope some of the new lads will offer something in this respect.
