Disagree with you at the moment. He may well go on to score more goals; because he will have better players around him. Oli has shown he has far more to his game comparing the size of the two lads. Tammy's refusal to challenge for high balls is criminal.

The Sockless One on 17:07 - Dec 30 with 3675 views | Tom1912 | Did superbly when he came on, put himself about and kept us in possession and linked up with midfielders. Abraham didn't do any of those things today. And when the chance came, McBurnie stepped up. Killed a lot of time in the corner too, which really helped us avoid any last chances at the end which I would have not backed us to have the backbone for this season.

The Sockless One on 17:13 - Dec 30 with 3575 views | Neath_Jack | Anyone who has watched him in the U23's can see that he's a very good player, and not just his outstanding goal scoring record for them. Whether he can kick on and make it in the Premier League is another thing mind. Fully deserves his chance though.

If we do go down, I see no reason why he can't be a regular in the Championship for us.

I have never seen anything bad from him when given a chance. On topic. Good job McBurnie, you deserve the chance and took it well. [Post edited 30 Dec 2017 17:22]

Because you’ve never seen anything good from him either, at least not in the first team. Up until now, he has only had cameos and an impossible task at Anfield. Always neat and tidy but never stamped any authority on the game. He did today. Really impressed by him.

Just wondering how he'd do starting alongside Wilf? Worth a shot?

I still think Tammy and Wilf if we are going to go with a front two. What McBurnie did really well (excluding the excellent header for the Ayew goal) was hold up and link play. Bony can do all that as well as anyone. Think Tammy is a better partner for him. Without Bony, there’s probably a decent argument for at least giving him a go. Tammy isn’t suited to leading the line on his own.

Didn't he score a Hatrick on his debut for Newport. I have never seen the under 23s play so no idea if he is good enough.

The Sockless One on 17:39 - Dec 30 with 3195 views | longlostjack | Add to that the fact that Tammy seems to have had a bit of a spoilt teenager attitude these last couple of weeks. Needed a kick up the bum. Well done Ollie lad.

Agreed. Before today I'd have said loan him to a Champ side for the rest of the season so he'd get some experience there and be ready next year if we're relegated. Now I'm less certain about either thing happening.

He looks superb for them, but it’s nowhere near Premier League standard.
