Booked to fly up to Scotland early November as my second eldest who lives up there is due to give birth to my new grand daughter, got an email today telling my flights are cancelled, got hotel booked and everything. Never using them again.

Never flown with them and never will that oleary tvvat is the Harry redknapp of the aviation world ie a fcuking crook , he is a complete kunt , I don't normally hate on people but the man is a maggot and I hope he gets a kicking of the highest order how is it that in todays world people can be left stranded in foreign countries after paying for tickets without so much as an email and even then your insurance isn't worth more than wiping your a rse on , the whole thing needs looking at from parliament in fact the whole transport system in this country is fooked we are mugs for putting up with it
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot

Not sure where you're based Komradkirk, but Belfast to Dublin airport is not much over an hour and a half drive these days

I use Ryan Air a lot and have never had any major issues with them, but I'm always wary of them and never sure when they might trip me up. I hear they are disaster when paying out compensation preferring to blame the customer rather than themselves when things go tits up. I am due to visit my family in Sussex and my eldest daughter who has just moved near Brighton at the end of October. Some flights from Dublin to Gatwick are dirt cheap at the moment and I would normally jump on these offers, but not this time. I don't trust them with this current mess. Pilots and air crew employed by O'Leary's project farce are threatening industrial action just to add to the woes. So maybe I'll fork out a small fortune and fly with Aer Lingus, at least they are fairly stable present. I've had past issues with Squeegy Jet, so won't even consider them as an alternative.
There aint half been some clever bastards.

I used to think I hate Ryanair but at the end of the day, they take me to places for very cheap and I have never had any issues with them apart from one cancellation in many years of using them. And that cancellation was due to ATC in France so I got to blame the French instead anyway!
Now Vueling airlines on the other hand....well you're lucky you don't live in Spain and have to use them regularly as they are the worst, really the worst. biggest bunch of shite ever.
Just got the £80 voucher which is pleasant. Only UK airport they fly to from Belfast is Gatwick and that is closed down during the period of use. May take a foreign trip or head down the road to Dublin and go somewhere from there.

Mate I started a thread about Ryanair a couple of weeks ago when we got stranded in Italy, when i got home i actually phoned them In Dublin to get my money back which I got into my account the next day and as I requested e-mail confirmation I got that too, all of this was about 5 days before they announced the current mess they are in. Speak as you find they've never let me down and I've used them loads. Its just like a bus service, but the bus fly's.

Couldn't you use Knock airport, bit of a hike from Belfast I know but its a cracking little airport that now has daily flights to England I believe.

Good that they treated you well Ted. It's not often you here a positive comment about their service. But at the moment, would you trust them? They are after all in a real state and it is understandable folk will seek out other alternatives even if they have to pay over the odds to fly. O'Leary really has to change his tact, and stop acting like Donald Trump and stop slating other airlines and businesses when his is far from perfect.
There aint half been some clever bastards.

Knock would be a bit too far west,I know one of our lot from Donegal uses it now and again. Ulsterbus do through the night trips to Dublin from Belfast which stops at the airport so i would favour this route if need be. My bus pass is due in a couple of months so that will benefit for up and down to Dublin. I am a lot calmer now.
