In case you have to sell them?

We need someone to sit in front of the defence who can kick seven shades out of the opposition in a Cav/Dawson style. Rhys did is a bit last season but wasn't quite the terrier we need. He said he had nurtured Bell last season to avoid having to buy a striker this season. Hopefully that will ring true. A keeper would be great.

Signings on 12:26 - Jun 19 with 4308 views | fitzochris | We lost 21 games last season - more than any other team in the top half. That in itself tells us that it is at the back where we need to strengthen. An inability to defend set pieces cost us a lot of points. Getting McNulty in is a good start, but we need more - and a keeper, of course. I think we're okay in the midfield. An additional holding player would be an advantage, but how many players do we have budget for? If you look at the number of forward players we have, too, it's hard to see Hilly being able to justify bringing in another one. I hope he does, but it's hard to see.

Hill did comment a few weeks ago about missing a Cav style midfielder, whether he can find someone to fit that mould we will see. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

That's right, he did. Well hopefully it's an area he is looking at. I keep forgetting that we've lost Dawson from the wage bill.

I thought Rhys looked excellent in most games he played in that position and given that he's still young and that's not his natural position, I'd be more than happy to see how he develops as a defensive midfielder this year.
