Saints Will Once Again Have To Wear Change Strip In Cup Final Thursday, 26th Jan 2017 22:57 Saints will apparently be wearing their change strip at Wembley after Manchester United tweeted they will be wearing their home shirts for the final at Wembley in February. Vote now in our online poll Saints will once again have to change their shirts for a cup final, something they not only had to do for the 1976 FA Cup final, but the 1979 League Cup Final and the 2003 FA Cup Final, even the 1992 ZDS Trophy Final saw a switch in kit with only the 2010 JPT final seeing the famous red & white stripes in use. United tweeted to their fans after winning through their semi against Hull. "We can confirm we will wear our home kit in the #EFLCup final. #MUFC" That means that their red shirts will clash with our stripes and we will need to change. Saints will now need to decide to go with their current black change kit or come up with a one off for the final. The problem with the black kit is that it is not very colourful whereas a change kit might add a touch of colour and atmosphere to the day. There are those that would like to see a retro yellow kit produced to remember that 1976 final and there is a school of thought that would like to see the Sash kit of 2010/11 brought back to life to commemorate our first ever kit. Both would certainly prove popular with the fans and the yellow kit especially would add that colourful element as it did in Cardiff in 2003 and one fan on the internet has already designed this kit below.
