| Forum Thread | How Pigbag became our goal song? at 12:02 27 Apr 2023
Hello all, I’ve been fascinated for years by the use of music at Loftus Road. Three classics in my opinion: The Clash - London Calling - Heard before games. Makes sense lyrically, riles up the crowd, Mick Jones a QPR fan I think? Jeff Beck - Hi Ho Silver Lining - Great vibe after a win, I read that there was a woman, Daphne, Secretary of the Supporters Club, who always loved it at Player of the Season Dinner & Dance and started being used as a tribute. And then finally: Pigbag - Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag. I’m hoping that someone knows a bit about how this became our goal song, and that it’s not just that we stole it from some other club. I’ve started running an archive online documenting bits about new wave/post punk stuff, so would love to make a video about how this song became a Loftus Road classic if anyone would be up for a chat about it. -Rob |
| Forum Thread | Kane or Kakay at 13:27 19 Apr 2021
Not the biggest fan of Kane for obvious reasons, but looking at Kakay's recent games I wonder if he should be back starting. Apparently Kakay lost the ball 'once every 2.5 touches and once every 4.5 minutes' against Boro. Completed only 57% of his 37 passes. I remember hearing Warbs say something before that this is how it works when building a team from younger players, that they do make mistakes but it gives experience and creates a better team. Which is so evident from Willock who i think has become one of our best players from his game time this season. So... Kakay or Kane? |
