You couldn't compare his or Berbatov's workrate to the rest of the team though which is why I really hope this happens and we continue to see the same rate of improvement in Adel as we saw last year | | | |

The guy is absolute class. He can score a hatrick without breaking sweat. Lazy arrogance about him. A superb footballing brain that gives him yardage on most and an excellent finisher.

One of those players who can score goals for fun when his team are strolling through the opposition, but when the going gets a little tough and he might have to get his shorts dirty, he usually don't want to know.
Not what we need in my opinion. MLS would suit him.

Berbatov would undoubtedly give us much better quality upfront (despite being a player who blows hot and cold) but we are in danger of stockpiling players in certain positions where we already have quality and depth!
We really need to start offloading Smith, Hulse, DJ (sadly) and any other fringe players (Connelly, Ephraim etc).
With really obstinate players like Hulse it might even be worth agreeing to fudn the difference between his current wage and a lower wage at a new club for the season just to get rid of the big lump!

This is all well and good, but I don't think we need a striker.
Between Zamora, Cissa, Johnson, Helguson, Campbell & Bothroyd I think we've got enough up top.
And that's without also talking about Taarabt, Hoilett, & Mackie, who can also score goals.
No doubt talk of Defoe, Berbatov, and Bellamy is basically AMAZING, considering some of the dross I've watched over the years......I never thought I'd see a squad as strong as ours currently is; but IF we're able to strengthen any more, I'd go for a CB, then CM in that order.
(But, if we can move Hulse, Campbell and Bothroyd on then of course one of those mentioned will make my excitement nodes bristle). |  | | |

Agreed (the strategy, not necessarily the description of "big lump"). We've just got past four years of Paladini drones bleeding the club and just causing resentment all round. Ffs, if a player is obviously surplus to requirements, negotiate a payout, seal the deal and move them on. It's best for all everybody. |  |

I find it amazing how people on here say 'no thanks' and 'we don't need another striker' to a rumoured possibility of signing Berbatov, Defoe or Bellamy.
You would rather not sign one of those three mention and stick with Helguson, Bothroyd and Zamora?
If Cisse is inured or suspended you honestly think one of our other strikers will bang in the goals?
Come on guys. Bothroyd is cack, Helguson did well for us early part of last season then blew out and Zamora can't seem to play a full 90 minutes with his obvious heel/achilles injury.

Our aim is to eventually mix with the big boys so if players of this quality become available I can see us making an enquiry whatever we already have up front. Remains to be seen if we even get a chance to talk to him. However if (massive if) he signed he would get 20 goals no problem and we would be top half.

Last season you could pick QPR starting 11 with ease this season I couldn't even guess the formations as there's so many players who can play in different positions I think we will get berbatov and a new cb then will see a few more leave campbell and vine look likely to go. And lots of fringe players have already gone. And we defiantly can't say these players are not wanted at QPR few years ago we had nygarred and santos shudder .ursssssss |  |

I don't think that all the scepticism about Berbatov is based on misplaced snobbery and delusions of grandeur. There are some questions to answer.
1) Is he the player he once was? At Manchester United he has become the player who is brought on to get you the fourth goal when you are already 3-0 up.
2) Does he have to have a team built around him? He never seems to have played as well at United as at Tottenham.
3) Is he the right kind of player for QPR? Didn't we all say that the lesson of last season that we needed to find up and coming players from the lower leagues, and gems from the continent?
4) Will he be happy if he is not playing every game? |  |
