Thanks Clive. Enjoy the break.

weirdly I thought the game went better than I expected which says a lot about what I was expecting.

We were pretty rubbish again but as you said had 3 very good chances to get at least a point which is better than the crap served on Tuesday. I do think if we had got level Leeds would have just stepped up and won anyway but I came away feeling well that could have been worse

At 1-0 and us going forward in the latter stages of the game I could hear the Elland Road crowd getting restless on the stream.

We really should have taken one of our chances but the way we defended for the second goal, as you say, we were destined to lose.

I commented on another thread that at least we stayed in the game.
I got admonished by an other poster for saying this .
In hindsight they were right . We were never getting anything out this game.

As I say, this is where we are. We're quite upbeat that it was only 2-0.

Well, quite. No grumblings in the away end against manager / players / Director of Recruitment / CEO?

Slipshod recruitment and DOF’s. There’s a theme here.

No chants or anything but the all important grumbles in the mens toilet was mostly people calling Nourry several names and saying he has to go

Nourry should go? Maybe, but the trouble is, he is not a player. It is the players that have to turn this around. If Nourry is picking the team or deciding the tactics, that's another matter. But, if his sins were committed in the summer transfer window, then they are a mere distraction at the moment. For now, the club must focus on what happens on the pitch.

Such are the low expectations I have of this current crop of players, I thought we did better than I expected we'd do.
Still utter shite, but not as monstrously shite as we were against Boro.
I think of the injured players we have out, only Clarke-Salter, and Frey would make a scintila of difference.
I'm done with Chair who more often than not, flatters to decieve, and the others are just meh, too.
I wish this international break was a bit longer, frankly.

the two are heavily linked though surely? A lot of the problems on the pitch are due to what we did in the summer window

A jalfrezi enema 🤣. Keep on smiling and the whole world smiles with you.

Brilliant, unlike this team or club. Rubben & Nourry out!!!!

The highlight for me was Nardi taking a crack in the face, clearly not knowing if he was in Leeds or Lille and the physio looking over, seeing a mid-20s FM Regen on the bench and deciding that actually he was suddenly feeling perfectly fine after all…

Perfect summary Clive with the normal quality lines that always bring a smile and a laugh on a drab Monday morning.

A very long and expensive day and your so right Leeds never got out of second gear which was very surprising and the Celar chance at the end was huge but he put it six feet wide.

We are now also losing our wooden spoon race with Portsmouth.

Thank god for the international break and I can go back to watching some non league football.

Thanks Clive for shoehorning Kerry Katona and Professor Plum into the match report. Certainly, many don’t have a cluedo.

Edit: Strange to be downvoted on this though!

46 years in, I have never cared less about the club.

Suffering since 1978.

So you'd let the same people who did the summer do January as well?

You are right, Dave, but although recruitment may have caused the problems on the pitch, it is on the pitch that we have to fix them - a job for the players and their coach.

There are far too many knee jerk reactions in football now, but there is a growing body of evidence that our summer recruitment has been a disaster for the most part, that our CEO is a misguided control freak and that a manager whom most of us revere is distancing himself from what is going on at the club. I think it's now clear that we need to sack our CEO as he is a liability.

Suffering since 1978.

In Marti we trust.
In Nourry we rust.

Time to get the bedsheets out, gang.

We're 1.5 months away from him being given free reign again, so I'd say now is a great time to get rid of him before he buys another Santos, Madsen or Clear.

At the very least I'd be getting in a competent DoF to sit between him and the recruitment team.

I really don't see what the coaches are supposed to do with the injury list and players provided.

A great piece on a grim subject. Thank you!

I particularly liked this line: " A team you could presently distract with a shiny piece of paper".

A shout out for 062259, their one word summaries of our plight are comedy gold and lift the gloom a little. We had "Pray" in the match preview and now we have "Doomed" in the match report. That's QPR summed up in two little words, sigh

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Maybe I should adopt that technique for the reports for a while.

Nearly.

Unlucky.

Rubbish.

Cnts.
