Probably better not say my next one

Chatting with my dear old mum. ( 93 years young )

Sharing my bite size shreddies with the sqirrels, they now come most mornings.

A big full English breakfast,.

Embarrassing my kids (even though their now grown up )

A nice long walk in the countryside on my doorstep.

So many, but I suppose just glad to be still here, so many poor folk have left us unexpectedly..

Ah, sitting in my warm living room, lights down, reading a Patrick O'Brian novel while the wind rages outside. A glass of wine or whisky at hand.

Walking the dog on the coast, the sound, views, smell, texture of sand/stone underfoot, Gulls, oyster catchers, seals seemingly as curious of me as I am of them, battered by the wind but warm in layers of comfortable clothes I've had for years. Solitude. day dreaming.

Good conversation, old-fashioned debates using reason and listening to the other viewpoint. Laughing til I can't catch my breath.

The music I love.

Kinship - family, friends, music, football.

Nice smelling soap, a hot shower when I come home from work cold and covered in mud.

Taking a second at work - flowers, bees, views, scents, birds. Sharp secateurs.

Making someone feel better when they're sad
Making someone laugh
Having someone make me laugh
Cuddles
Small children chattering to you and themselves
Sharing kindnesses
Listening to the sea
Having a coffee with a friend
Counting my blessings
The smell of coffee when you open a new packet of fresh coffee
Other people's good news

When you’ve worked with kids who have to fetch water from a well, then clean water flowing from a tap whenever you want it is a pleasure you realise isn’t simple for many.

A good belly laugh with people; possibly the last thing they can tax you on and the only free and most effective medicine in the world!

That Guinness zero is good stuff. By far and away the best no alcohol drink I've sampled. But struggle to find a consistent stick of it - anyone recommend?

I managed to get some in Sainsbury's a while back. Tesco stock it but never have it when I go there. I ordered 24 cans on Amazon but it was more than double the price.

Walking for me.
I can walk through the fields to the beach from where I live (not a buckets and spades beach, it overlooks Fawley refinery!).
Less than 20 minutes drive to some beautiful walks on the South Downs or the New Forest.
Try to get away to either the Lakes, Peaks, Snowdonia etc at least 2/3 times a year.

Music, reading and watching QPR. It's been that for nearly all my life so far.

The grass is always greener.
