Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 16:58 - Apr 10 by richfoad32 | I think the only crumb of hope we have is getting Humphrys back. Without him we look completely toothless and I just can't see where any goals are going to come from. |
We look lost I agree. We didn't start playing until Dooley came on and that says something. We missed the Done option - but again there was no Plan B. Fleetwood were awful and we were worse. BBM promised us an exciting end to the season. Not today. Not ever This team and tactics won't survive League Two. Maybe that was the Plan that the Directors have in mind. Makes you wonder
Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 17:07 - Apr 10 with 2313 views | SandyDrum | None of them seem like they're bothered and it's so depressing. There's no urgency, no character, literally nothing. We have a corner in the 99th minute and we still left a defender and goalkeeper back defending. Just get everyone in the box, at least try. All but relegated now, there's no fight in this team and it's sad.

Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 16:59 - Apr 10 by DaleiLama | It's almost as if we don't have a hugely talented manager who other teams are trying to poach? Bottomley has to fall on his sword on the 18th now. Management out of its depth on and off the pitch. New blood needed. |
Let's hope he's playing a round of golf tomorrow

Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 17:06 - Apr 10 by 49thseason | If fans aren't back in the grounds at the start of next season, football will be the least of our worries. Most clubs at our level will be bust at that point. Indeed I have no real idea why the EFL didn't abandon this season too, all they have achieved is the impoverishment of clubs and the long term unemployment of dozens if not 100s players. The men in blazers have proved to be useless once again and their financial support package was utterly biased towards clubs with the largest attendances, no wonder Bottomley seems to be in awe of them, lets hope he has spotted his next job opportunity. |
Disgusting performance

Yep, Osho & Roberts seem to be the only ones who have turned up for 2 consecutive matches. EOC made it a good back 3 last game, but today it was like he had been out on the town last night. Possibly one of his worse games in a Dale shirt. They had all the possession, but not sure Lynch had much to do other than the O.G. I bit like Ipswich in that there were points to be had but we have ended up with 1 out of 6
Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 17:10 - Apr 10 with 2244 views | 442Dale | Actually think the team that went down in 2012 under Coleman had more about it as the season drew to a close than what we are currently witnessing.

Boycott, Boycott Boycott.. don't put any money into this club until BBM, CEO and the current board are removed from our club.

Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 17:16 - Apr 10 with 2111 views | Cedar_Room | I felt that we needed a minimum of 4 points from this and the Swindon game so to start out of the blocks like this means it’s all over as far as I’m concerned. We are down. We’ll be relegated long before the final game too. Awful, pathetic stuff.

Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 16:49 - Apr 10 by DaleiLama | Totally agree. Another crumb is we don't get to hear the chants "you're going down" every week too. We lost a pound and found a penny. |
That genuinely is the only silver lining right now. I hate that bloody chant!
Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 17:22 - Apr 10 with 2022 views | NorthernDale | The only post match comment I want from BBM is that he as resigned, but instead we will get the normal b*llsh*t about the players tried hard, they put in good performance and they are disappointed. The team only showed any urgency in the last 10 minutes, but that they seem uninterested and played, as if it was a pre-season kick about game, rather then a team fighting for its life. BBM is making Steve Eyre look talented, the man is clueless in his team selection , tactics and does seem to inspire confidence in the team and fans, he is a disaster. The defence played well, but when you have a frontline which could not score in a brothel with Humphrys. Beesley tries hard, but he won't score many in a season, Baah has been poor since the move to City went pear shape, Vale looked like he has potential, but came on far too late. I am fed up with Shaughnessy being in the team, he seems more of an hindrance and I suspect he will look poor in league 2 next season. We are 6 points from safety and anything but a win on Tuesday, and we are down in all but name.
Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 17:28 - Apr 10 with 1974 views | BigDaveMyCock | I can’t think of a player the team needed less than Conor Shaugnessy. I’m not criticising him personally because he was just as bad as everybody else but he’s absolutely not what this team needed. It couldn’t afford to slow down any further. His addition is a bit like giving more booze to an alcoholic.

Actually feel sorry for him. A move to a lower league club with access to first team football with players fighting for results would be probably what he needed. If he was in an environment where results were being given greater focus that performances, which is not something he’ll have seen at youth level, he could have pushed on. Instead he joined us and he hears talk of controlling games and great effort and everything remains the same. He might not be much good, but players like him and Grant are being failed like the fans are.

Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 17:38 - Apr 10 with 1830 views | dawlishdale | A tactically inept performance from a team clearly lacking in ability, confidence and management. Annoyingly, Fleetwood had an off day, but were streets ahead of us in their enterprise; especially in the first half, and up to them taking the lead. Lord knows how BBM will dress that rubbish up, but I'm not even going to listen. The only players coming out of the game with credit for me are Osho and Roberts,(who are not even our players !!!) whilst Dooley and Morley did ok when they came on. Even the tireless running of Ollie is wasted with the players we have, as they seem confused as to what to do. He must be so frustrated. Shaughnessy just isn't good enough to be a footballer with his long(ish) throws that never find a Dale player. He should be ashamed as to how slow he is and how weak in the challenge for a big bloke.I thought he would improve with a few games...but no; he's just as slow as he was when we signed him. And Keohane got skinned twice in the first 5 minutes of the second half...and then again leading to their goal. Beesley never had a sniff today, which speaks volumes of our chances of avoiding the drop. In fact; there were long periods of the game when I didn't know he was on the pitch. All in all; it's another awful day to be a Dale fan. Relegation? Absolutely. Hope for next season? Sadly none until Bottomley does the honourable thing and resigns, taking BBM with him for a good cry.

To be fair to the lad he probably wouldn’t have been here if we hadn’t signed far too many players with horrendous injury records who have, quelle surprise, gone and got injured.

Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 17:48 - Apr 10 with 1721 views | James1980 | Dare I saw the biggest thing we need is more money coming in whether it is through ticket sales or a sugar parent picking up some bills. Even if it is just for a few years to establish a team and not have to sell our better players bring in squad players that are the equivalent of the local amateur dramatics playing understudy to actors in a straight to dvd movie. Rathbone praised the management for 'not throwing players under the bus' im starting to wonder if that is because not only are our management team all about positive reinforcement for the players but they are scared of upsetting our 'better players' and them not signing contract extensions/running contracts down etc. If we had a bit more flexibility in the finances perhaps that would mean players having a little less 'power' and whoever is giving the team talks and post match interviews could have a little more freedom to give players a bollocking

Match Thread: Fleetwood vs Rochdale on 17:55 - Apr 10 with 1632 views | BlueMessiah | I honestly believe that's it as far as this season is concerned. If the big changes that we all know are needed don't happen, then I can see next season being a carbon copy of this - with the same outcome. If nothing changes, nothing will change. With so little fight on or off the pitch, we are pretty much - as D_Alien mentioned earlier - tossing away the last 15 years' effort without so much as a whimper. Such a tragedy that the pandemic has cost us our voices from the stands, things would have been very different I'm certain. Sad days.

I would guess that McShane, Ryan and Lund are amongst the club’s higher earners. The problem has been neither of them have been available for nearly enough games to give us a fighting chance. Don’t get me wrong, any manager can be unlucky with injuries. However, when you sign so many players with bad injury records your tweaking serious nipples.

Derisory offer or not, O'Connell's 25 and about to enter the period when he'd be expecting to be making the most of his ambitions in the game Starting out at Celtic with appearances in European competitions, to being relegated with bury and the attendant tripe coming from the boardroom; thinking he was joining a club with greater stability and a like-minded young coach but finding instead yet another relegation and tripe coming from both the boardroom and dressing room... He's every right to be mightily pissed-off with the turn of events and i'm not sure i can hold the obvious disintegration in his enthusiasm and leadership against him. In fact, i'm sure i don't [Post edited 10 Apr 2021 18:39]

In which case , as Napoleon is reputed to have said "I'd rather have lucky generals than good ones". There has been no real gut -busting effort all season, they have been off the pace and unable to match the physicality of any other team in the Division. You can play tippy tappy like world beaters but L1 teams are built on power and strength and will hammer tippy tappy played at half-pace in your own half 99 times out of 100. That the Manager has even attempted to play his pace-less players with these tactics in L1 should have been a sackable offence on the first day of the season. And what's worse is that the Board have encouraged and rewarded this insanity. . Major surgery is now the only solution, on the pitch, in the managers office and in the Boardroom. I want a manager who understands the demands of lower league football inside out and brings in players capable of playing 46 games at a high tempo, , a backroom staff that gets the players as fit as butchers dogs and then some and a board that has a plan to do more than just keep the club in existence. I will not pay to watch half hearted football played by passionless footballers at walking pace. Over to you Mr Dunphy.....
