FA Cup 18:20 - Oct 24 with 12755 viewsAncoats_Blue

1st round draw on Monday. Usually something I’m glued to, can’t really find the excitement this year knowing we won’t watch the games. Hoping we get an easy route to R3 and some much needed income.

Income will purely be prize money and iFollow. Kind of takes the shine of any big away fixture in the 3rd round, definitely isn't going to be the same.

Poll: What are we more excited for?

iFollow is an EFL service, but maybe there will be something lined-up for the FA Cup this season.

Grant Holt picking the balls for the draw.

Presumably our best hope for income is for TV games.

Rochdale ball number 38.
thinking objectively, being drawn against which team will more likely get us on the telly box?

Did Bury (Town) get through. That’d be a good one 😀

Dunno, James. Never heard of them, but noticed they won today.

Skelmersdale would be for you, James, if away fans were allowed to go.

They were a top non league side in the late 1960s getting to the Amateur cup final at Wembley.

And we signed Norman whitehead from that Wembley team.

Quite a lot of that team turned pro I think. Was Steve Heighway one of them ?

Looks like prize money has been significantly reduced as well.

If ever there was a season to "concentrate on the league" this could be it!

If the rules remain the same for R1 then we won’t be watching any game in the flesh. Not officially anyway. Basically any tie that involves an “elite” Side (that’s tier 6 and above) has fan restrictions. If it was 7th tier v 7th tier then home and away fans allowed to a limit (think 600 max). 7th tier v 3rd tier, home fans only. 6th tier v 3rd tier no fans.
If we draw someone in tier 7 away I’d imagine there’ll be a few Daley’s in the crowd though...
