Seems like it's just factoring the future payments for Downes. Bank takes a cut, we get the cash now. Same as what we did when we sold them Ayew only a different bank.

I’m not as up as I should be on these things. But the reason for this is surely to enable the club to administer their bills before part payments come in from West Ham ? Or maybe to finance a big purchase ðŸ˜‚
