Very sad news as he was a great trade unionist.
Any idea how he went?

Not yet - only 52. Was listening to him on the radio yesterday defending his council house status. Sadly, he said he didn't really have any friends in the neighbourhood

£150,000 a year and he had a council house.

Says more about our governmentim afraid.

Sad news so no ranting.

He divided public opinion more than any other Union leader since Scargill.
Some will cry, some celebrate and hope that the London Underground has fewer strikes.
52 is no age at all, so must have been medical related.

It's not what you've got; it's where you stick it.

He fought hard for his members, and you can't ask for any more than that of a union leader.

Council housing was not supposed to be for the poor, the idea was to provide quality housing for everyone. That the concept was bastardised and housing policy became a key driver of our economy was not his fault, the blame for that lies elsewhere.

An uncompromising and energetic champion of the interests of his members, he deserves to be remembered fondly by them. No concern for those of others, but that wasn't his role.

Yikes, 52, that's only three years away for me.

Me neither. However he was brilliant for his members as a leader and a negotiator but a bludy menace for the public in general. Like Scargill before him he eventually saw himself as far more than a union leader and more the CEO of TFL. Such self inflicted pressures may well have been instrumental in his death.

RIP.

52, no age RIP

Although I am sure that somewhere in the afterlife he is chuckling at the irony of being called The late Bob Crow.

Never knowingly right.

My own politics somewhat different to his but have a lot of admiration for him. A straight runner unlike most of the despicable Labour MPs who prefer class war to the working class, who they secretly despise.

Have a word with yourself.
You know he had a family right?
You think its acceptable to say shit like that about a man who never took a back hander in his life just because he may have inconvenienced your travel plans?
How would you feel if someone said that about one of your parents?

Agreed. The way some on here rejoiced at Thatcher's death was nothing short of disgraceful.

How many of you were gloating when Thatcher died? Wind your necks in.

The guy held this country to ransom several times. Bllx to the unions.

Said my piece on this, wont be looking at this thread again.

Bob Crow on Thatcher's death: " As far as I am concerned she can rot in hell."

Never understood anyone taking pleasure in the death of someone, no matter what their differences.
