Still Plenty Of Tickets Left For West Ham FA Cup Tie
Monday, 28th Feb 2022 09:11

After four 30k plus attendances in a row including the previous round against Coventry City, you would have thought that St Mary's would be sold out for the visit of West Ham United on Wednesday evening, but with two days to go there are still plenty of tickets available.

The good news though, is that 3 sides of the ground are sold out, the Northam End is of course going to be housing the Hammers supporters, but both the Kingsland & the Itchen are also sold out.

That leaves just the Chapel End and a look a the online ticketing system shows that all sections of this stand have plenty of seats available, the most sparse section is the Family Centre and one can only assume that given the large number of children in this section, many are not going due to this being an evening kick off on a school night.

This is understandable, but the surprise is that these seats haven't been snapped up with Saints in such a fine run of form and with a great chance to go through to the quarter finals.

Given that the Chapel Stand holds around 6,000 seats, I would estimate that there are about half of these ie 3,000 still available.

At £20 for adults and £10 for those under 18 it is not a big price to see two Premier League teams battle it out in the FA Cup.

Hopefully there will be a late rush, it is not uncommon for games like this to sell several thousand tickets in the days before the game.

But get in quick because on the day the price will rise from £20 to £25.

These are good times for Southampton Football Club after some difficult times, we have a new owner who is excited about the club, lets show him that the backing of the supporters is there.

Giving this a swerve, been to lots of games recently (home and away). For those who don’t live in Southampton, midweek games with all the travel issues of trains and traffic for a game that’s on tv -it’s more about that than the ticket cost.

This in incredible. We finally get a team worth watching, a winable tie and cheap tickets, and we still can't sell out. Should we be fortunate enough to get to the semis and/or final I hope all of the 24,000 or so Saints fans there on Wednesday will get some form of priority.

I would love to have been there on Wednesday. In fact I was eagerly awaiting the draw and then so damn disappointed that it was a mid-week game as I knew I could not get the time off that I would need to travel 240 miles there and then back.

I hope we win and those that can make it give their total support as our support has been good this year.
