We are only 9 points behind Newcastle, which is nothing at this stage of the season.

Over half our games are against teams within 11 points, there's lots of movement still to be seen in this table.
40 points is seen as making a club safe but 34/35/36 points would have secured 17th place far more often. Something like 7 out of the last ten seasons.
More positive than not!

Just beat the bottom 8 teams and pick up the odd draw.

And last season Wigan overhauled Villa who were 9 pts ahead of them, and us from being 8 pts ahead of them.

Oh dear, brain not working - after 12 games they were in fact 9 pts behind both Villa and us.

By New Year they were only 2 pts behind us, but still 8 behind Villa.

End of Jan they were 5 pts behind us again, and a whole 12 pts behind Villa who were in 12th place.
Even end of Feb they were still 1 pt behind us and 9pts behind Villa
End of March 31 games played level with us but still 5 pts behind Villa & then end of April, 36 games played - out of the relegation zone 3 pts ahead of us and level with Villa!!

Essentially, we need to do what Wigan did last season and we'll be fine. *Gulp*

However, in January, when we look to have some very hard games coming up this season, their situation last season didn't get any better, they left it to a late run.

Best post of the season so far

Maybe we should sticky this thread - however, could the miserable sods handle it?

I think it's very simple now.

Enjoy having a great manager
24 games left
Don't bother looking at the table.
Win 11 games we stay up (I reckon).
Less than half.
Get behind the manager, get behind TF, get behind the team
Encourage them to enjoy what they do so we can enjoy watching them
Never look down, just play to win, every time.
If we don't, we shrug it off, don't look at the table and go again.

Never knowingly right.

Cracking thread and we'll keep this up the top for a while longer - well added to as well Bosh!
Just have to get this first bloody win over weekend and build from there.
Think Harry can give a nice balance of arm round shoulder and boot up backside.
Certainly not going to be dull...

Yeah just a quick sideways glance to the bench every now and then to see Joe Jordan's glowering face and our players are bound to try that 30% harder, not a man I'd cross in a hurry! Sort out our finishing and get Granero shooting more and we're bound to stay up. Despite the position I'm more upbeat about our survival chances then I was a year ago!

I'm in. This run is no different to the mid season dip we had last year. 16 games, 4 draws and 1 win (remember them?). All we need is a win against Villa and we'll be fine!

It is great to see a truley postive thread at last. The optimism is contageous.

The key is to turn good performances to results. I think we are close based on the last 2 matches.

Motivation, concentration and confidence is fundamental. The lucky fans present at live matches have a big role to play (as stated in comments above) in supporting the players and management through 90+ minutes. Let's make Loftus Road a fortress with a cauldron atmosphere, and support away as at Sunderland.

We must create postive energy and confidenece for the team, and not pass on frusutation and anxiety.

Confidence => results => points => safety.
Easy on paper, more diffcult in reality, but perfectly doable with the correct attitude and management!

Positivity thread on 09:30 - Nov 29 with 1675 viewsadhoc_qpr

I'm still not that optimistic about the results, but i think we'll have a real go and be competitive in every game - something Hughes dour, defensive tactics always failed to do!

I don't think 1 win will transform us like some hope, but if we can just get a bit of luck (a dodgy pen, a oppo red card etc) over the next month maybe we can scrape together the minimum 9 points we desperately need to keep the season alive.
