Proof that even the most dysfunctional and badly run clubs can find themselves in a decent position somehow.

Don’t give up hope!

Had not seen that they have been doing so well.

Only ten games in, and for me is a very false position and you could see them dropping right down the league but fair play on the start to the season.

Was shocked seeing the table this evening.

Big part of that is Chris Wood's form - eight goals in ten games.

He made the correct decision in giving up goalkeeping.

Pretty galling how well they are doing and Villa in the Champions league. Doesn't seem that long ago we could match them on the pitch but as each year passes we gradually get worse and they get better. But then I don't think clubs like that stagnate compared to us.

They won't be there come the end of the season.

I can't help thinking this is more a case of: if you give enough monkeys typewriters, you'll eventually get Shakespeare, as opposed to a carefully thought out and executed strategy. That being said, if they're in the mix come 1 Jan. God help us all when the TW is thrown open!

A hint of jealousy perhaps

Every single one of us, would swap where they are now and where we are currently.

We dod what they have done but it detroyed us in the long run.

They took a massive risk and seem to have got away with it very successfully, as things stand.

Correct. Great win at Liverpool but they’ve had a relatively easy run of games. The next month looks much harder for them.

And all they had to do was break the rules and receive a points deduction in a season where 27 points would keep you up.

Clearly, his monkeys and typewriters are plentiful and faster than yours!

However, it's not ruled out as impossible, and who knows the capabilities of the monkeys in the forests of Nottingham?

here's the Beeb's take.

Football is unpredictable, and prognostications about having a management plan/philosophy, DoF, no DoF, or (like us) DoF, CEO, Fans Forum Presenter, and Uber Husher-Upper rolled into one, only take you so far. Identifying with this or that 'model' is and thinking it will be the groundwork of success basically a defence against the glorious unfathomability of the game, as I see it. A lot of it is down to intangibles (or semi-tangibles) like chemistry, commitment, spirit, timing, and a splash of inspirational coaching coming together at the same time.

QPR have usually done best when we've had managers who had a vision of what/who they wanted, a Chairman/board that could/would/was allowed to put its hand in its pockets, and a desire to play football with sophistication, buy-in and flair: Sexton, Docherty, Venables, Francis (1st coming), Warnock. Old school, maybe, or oldish, but that's the hill I'd die on.

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?
