As predicted on another thread. No mention of cost to the club, however.

Just a shame it took them being outed by the manager they employ to get this done.

Or is it just mere coincidence?

It can't be because of the other thread, they don't read this messageboard.

This constant gatekeeping of information, missed deadlines and empty promises to fans and the trust need to stop.

That being said, the information in the article is interesting and probably answers most questions that people have (I don't think we'd ever get told the cost, its probably commercially sensitive). If this had been released when originally promised, there probably wouldn't have been the difficult questions for McNulty last night about it, and fans / shareholders would be less 'suspicious' as we'd have the information we'd been asking for & promised.

Yes, how much will this lot cost? It remains to be seen how well it works if players recruited turn out to be donkeys in the next few seasons, we are already good at that.

If it's cheaper than a DOF then fair enough.
Especially if we're looking long term as well as the immediate future.

Another example of damned if they do damned if they don't. Should they waited a few days? Should it have included an apology for not sharing more information about the role of MRKT?

It should've been communicated when they said it would be. It shouldn't take our head coach on BBC RM, or fans on a messageboard, calling it out for the article to come out.

You can see when articles and posts are reactionary - normally they are written in advance and scheduled to go live on the website on the hour or half past the hour... the one this morning was done at 10:41.

Not correct,James. We were promised an update long since, with a deadline of 'early July' It didn't happen. As a result, the manager was put in a very awkward position in his Q & A session on live radio last night.

That update could just as easily have been made public yesterday (or even sooner) to prevent the embarrassment for the manager, who himself agreed that we should be better informed.

The communication skills of this club are as poor as they have ever been and that needs to urgently addressed.

There needs to be a clear structure in place. One that everyone is aware of and works to once discussions and agreements are made between the Trust and the club. This has to include time bound action points that are then followed up on when not met with further information provided.

Until this is put in place, nothing will change.

There is a structure.

We post on here that we need to be or should have been kept up to date with something and then it magically appears on the Dale socials and the official website.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

But it seems that attempts to put things right are met with derision even before they are made. Yes they should have provided this information earlier. They have done so now. Regards to the cost should we also know how much Platt Lane is costing in comparison to the previous training facility?

Well done the club pro-actively releasing the information after a fan asked about it on radio. Might have been asked for before, but good on them, for being responsive.

Surely this is the definition of retro-active?

It's been asked for a promised over and over.

I took it as a reminder, and they delivered today.
The clubs not perfect and wont probably get round to ticking off some requests promptly.
The club staff must have a million and one jobs dealing in priority order and dilemmas on what info can be disclosed.

Then they should make that clear when speaking to the Trust and agree a suitable date for actioning issues. Then if that date can’t be met they and then Trust should update further.

It really isn’t hard.

The club will no doubt say they will look at this.

I wonder if BJ will be taking any flak from within the club for the opinion he voiced on the radio broadcast?

There's always been the thought at the back of my mind that his appointment - made since he fitted into the club ethos - also came with the expectation that he'd not be doing any boat-rocking

This MRKT business is just a minor ripple against the boat, but it just adds another aspect to the still-new relationship between both him and the board and with the fans

I certainly hope not. The club need to get their act together in every single department and Jim could be just the person to help drag it forward. No idea why the two most revealing interviews (Gauge last season and McNulty last night) have not been conducted by our own media team either.

Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall if Brian Clough had been approached with that consultant bollox!

He had Peter Taylor for that role. Now he really understood how to match talent to a role.

Taylor was adept at spotting younger players in the lower divisions.
Never forgiven them for stealing Les Green!

And yet... that opened the door to signing Chris Harker, in the top three keepers i've seen at Dale (who also had a link with Brian Clough)
