Shithouse football 13:29 - Oct 28 with 2251 views | PatfromPoole | I am greatly encouraged by last weekend’s game. I’m not fussed on entertaining football and all that tippy-tappy stuff. I would quite happily see us kick teams off the park and beat them with pure shithousery. If Ralph can indeed add this dimension to our play, then I will have greatly underestimated his tactical nous. Achieving this tomorrow against Zaha and his lot would be just lovely. However, let's mix this up with some good, attacking play as I'm sure most of us like to be entertained by our own team. Fast, crisp passing (forward preferably), playing between the lines and plenty of movement off the ball is what I'd like to see.

That's why Ralph might decide to get JWP to do a job on Zaha.

JWP on Zaha really worries me and I accept he's done a job on him in the past. I just hope Ralph doesn't go with it tomorrow. Not sure we've got anyone capable of man marking him so perhaps doubling up on him at all times is the way to go. He's a dangerous cookie when on his game so, however Ralph decides to go about it, we have to limit his influence on the game - easier said than done.

Lyanco is definitely a "no nonsense" throw back defender. However, whenever he comes on he always looks like he's trying to start a fight with someone. Very Sunday league. Given his role recently has been to defend a lead or single point against tough opposition, I wonder if he's being directed to rub people up the wrong way to get the opposition focused on him rather than the result? If he plays 90 minutes tomorrow, it will be interesting to see how he operates.
