Is it only people off forums who don't attend games that lay into him continuously ? The fans in the stadium were fully behind him.

Very good attacking effort for the first 55 minutes then a fantastic rearguard 35 minutes where every player put their body on the line to deserve a fantastic three points.

100% correct. As I have said for quite a while. If you are not there you don't get it.
Very good atmosphere there tonight. Pato had a good reception too.

People who booed Smith when he came on are all w*nkers.

The mutual adulation between the manager and supporters is incredible. Have you ever seen so many supporters remain after the game for the manager and fans to pay their support of each other.

Didn't hear anyone in the south booing. Where was it?

There is a bond there. You don't see that on the telly.

Fully deserved as well. Superb effort tonight.
Very good attacking effort for the first 55 minutes then a fantastic rearguard 35 minutes where every player put their body on the line to deserve a fantastic three points.
2/3 attempts on goal after 55 mins is not very good attacking effort. Brilliant defensive effort after that. Still plenty to be concerned about, gifting big opportunities with suicidal playing out from back and we are struggling to break teams down and don't look like scoring many. That's why we are averaging 1 goal a game. I think Russell tonight was lucky the Welsh rugby result was bad, so fans then were hoping Swans game would lift the mood and the alcohol helped.
Even when you know, you never know?

Credit to Martin for the starting line up. Downes was fantastic in that unexpected role. Shame Manning went before we could see more of that shape. Fingers crossed we give it another go.

I was watching from the comfort of my settee and the decision to issue a second yellow to Manning was a disgrace, player going down clutching is chops when Mannings foot was no where near the players chops was an absolute joke.
Career referees ruining the game, they've no idea of the game and how it works because they've read the rules out of a manual. Clueless aholes
Football is a pretty simple game, if you get the results the fans are happy... if you don't then they don't tend to be. Its not a new phenomenon and won't be changing any time soon.
Not sure where this myth has come from, and why it is continuing.
From the BBC after our game a matter of days ago:
''Swansea tried to respond and substitute Joel Piroe headed straight at Shea from Ryan Manning's cross, but the Welsh club are not in good form, having collected just five points in the Championship since 27 November, and were booed off by their supporters at full time .''
Also the previous game we lost at home vs Forest, skip to 8:00. Those that were left (most walked out), also showed their displeasure with boos at FT.
If we are doing well the supporter will generally be happy, if we aren't they generally won't - a few exceptions noted.
Today we won.

There is always a bunch of happy clappers. "5 points in 2 months, yay Go Russy" "19th ooh its a project, yay. In Russy we trust"
Do you honestly think that if a bigger team came calling for him he would show loyalty to his project? Just see it like it is. He's a paid employee. If results go well he gets rewarded. If they don't he gets sacked. Results have been terrible. There are plenty who can see it and voiced their opinion.

In my opinion the manager is doing a fine job. All this sack the manager recently has come from a tiny minority. Give him time, after all the greatest manager British football has ever seen Alex Ferguson took over Manchester United in 1986 and didn’t win anything until 1990.

No, I’m comparing thick Swansea fans to thick Manchester United fans. There were fans calling for Ferguson to be sacked back in the late 80’s, imagine if they had got their way ? I think it’s fair to say Manchester United wouldn’t have dominated English football In the way they did for the subsequent 25 plus years.
I cant attend matches anymore for health reasons. Can we stop the digs trying to cause a wedge between "those who go" and "those watching on the box"?
We are fans of Swansea City. Regardless of who is manager.
Yes it was good to hear the reaction at the stadium last night. We won. Of course there was euphoria and relief. Great atmosphere even for us tv watchers and a huge contrast to the noise earlier in the week.
More please.

What a strange post. Wales losing had nothing to do with last night, and probably 90% or more of the Swans fans don't get fuelled up before attending the game. We were lucky early on, but after the sending off, the rearguard action was the right course of action. Hats off to Russell and everyone involved last night. I have criticised him after Hull and Luton, but they bounced back well. The atmosphere was fantastic and a well deserved win. A special mention for Pato who was excellent, great to see him back

Some fans booed. Personally I ( and many who are actually grown up ) find booing childish and inane Yes definitely happened on Tuesday and a bit when Pato's name was announced just before kick off. He stuffed that down those Morton's throats as well. Probably the same childish gits who booed us on Tuesday Rant over

I think it more a question of genuine fans like yourself who cannot / do not attend but still get behind the team, and those who never / once in a blue moon attend a game and do nothing but slag us off They know who they are. One goes by various names and lives in Liverpool, another names himself after a Manure player and another may be a doctor ? Think they are the main culprits

It’s just how people show their feelings, football supporters don’t really have a voice so they boo and cheer, it’s panto essentially.
If Blackburn put away their two sitters, that ‘excellent supportive support’ no doubt would have booed them off again, nature of the beast.
You can guarantee more people boo at the stadium than those watching at home. I’ve never known anyone to boo at their TV
