Not refusing to play, not anything to do with his contract. No smoke, no fire.
>
I will leave the aforementioned original post above because we can’t always know everything, part true, however, there’s most certainly an issue. And if he has refused to play for the club then get rid.

All the info we had was it was just an illness, however at least we got one bit right. He didn’t play 😂 I’m still not sure, and believe this will be resolved on Monday when he returns to the club.
Bolt out of the blue that. If it’s accurate then his agent has got at him for sure.

On his backside in August, no club and then four months Later he is ‘ allegedly’ throwing a strop. Footballers eh ?

Do you know if he signed the contract extension, agreed to sign, or he was offered it and so far unsigned?

The spin behind this absence if it turns out true by the club is odd.
He says ‘ his mind wasn’t right to sign the contract’ Blokes been tapped up for sure. And if his mind isn’t right the first person getting the chop should be his agent. He after all represents him.

I imagine the club triggered the extension.

The club triggered the extension clause in his contract (which he willingly signed in the summer) based on number of games played.

Presumably on same wage.

Must be automatic and on same conditions 🤔
He's had offers of big bucks elsewhere probably thats why we triggered it so clubs have to pay up
He's turned billy big bollacks ,so off you go

Something in the back of my mind telling me he was offered a slight increase?

Getting loads of info on this, I’m seriously annoyed. Must drink more tea and reflect.

How much could we get for him do you reckon? Would maybe help us get o’riley. Get Mcatee in as backup and we are sorted in midfield again.

I would rather he was here, but the second half Saturday showed we can play without him.

So let me get this right.

We took a chance on him when many clubs didn't want to know?
We give him his chance and he performs?
We trigger a clause that he was happy to have inserted when there was not a queue of clubs wanting to sign him?

Looks like it's a 30yr old trying to push or get the best deal, probably his last chance BUT has quickly ignored what happened in the summer.

If he wants out, set the price, let him go and use the money for a younger replacement.

Sounds about right. If this is his attitude what would happen if he stayed and later dropped for poor performances. Into a strop.

If his heart not in the job, Club needs to get a decent price and move him on, trouble is clubs now know he's not happy, so won't be keen to pay what we want.

I don’t blame him, many of these footballers are paupers who don’t know when they’ll be able to afford their next meal or whether or not they can afford to heat their mansions and outdoor swimming pools.
