David Lacey, RIP 20:29 - Nov 17 with 2908 viewsHadders

I see that David Lacey, one of Britain's greatest football writers, has gone to the stadium in the sky. Here is a fitting tribute from another fine journalist; the messages below are worth a read, too. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/nov/17/david-lacey-never-wasted-words-

Also found this - by him, about us. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2011/sep/16/qpr-birmingham-owners-david-l

Used to love his writing. Gifted with eloquence and humour.

Yep, a great writer - I really enjoyed his reports. Can't believe he left the Guardian that long ago. RIP.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

I can't believe he was only 83, seemed the grand old man when I started reading him in the early 80s. I loved reading him, Hugh McIlvanney, Brian Glanville (pretentious, but fun) in ye olde days when you didn't have to have played the game to cover it.
