Defended well, created little, especially 2nd half.

Hull haven't threatened either. Bit of a nothing match.

1-0 Raff. Good left footed finish from corner of the box.

Dale win 1-0.. Joe Rafferty with a goal on 90 minutes.

I thought Williams in the middle of the back three was our best player. Alby looked to have a good touch and worked hard.

Typical preseason game with plenty of endeavour but a lack of end product. We had two decent chances in the first half.

MJW looks immaculate in that role, McNulty would be behind Delaney for me on the left of the three but time will tell. We were making a real point of keeping the ball moving amongst the backline and at times it nearly led to trouble but if it’s to test it under pressure, fair enough.

Perkins brain and ability to see all around him is obvious, he won’t need telling about some of his passing though, especially first half. Also his shirt looks to be a junior size as it has the smaller version of the badge!

Our crossing when we worked openings out wide wasn’t great but all in all another reasonable display. They might only be friendlies, but three clean sheets are still worth something.

Williams and Perkins were the stand out players fornme, with the former having an exceptional game at CB. Perkins was just a joy to watch, yeah he gave the ball a way a bit but his leadership and experience is amazing. He looks no older than when he left, will be a brilliant signing.

Not much else to report in all honesty but I did enjoy the game.

Williams and Perkins for me too.......MJ was the "boss" at the back,Jim was a bit wobbly and caused a few panics.(Mj took a sly stamp from a Hull striker,I think it hurt too)

Perks was like his old self....organizing, ratting and audibly encouraging the rest, lasted 90 mins too. Good job.

Speaking of young players, Adshead got the ball turned and pinged an inch perfect cross field pass over the defender to Rafferty. The look on both Hill's and BBM's faces was priceless.

Thanks for the reports everyone. Gut feelings, is MJWilliams a contender for centre back for the coming season or will he be back in midfield again?

And did we persist with the silly blue shorts or have we moved to white/black yet?

Blue shorts. I'm sure 442 will be able to discuss the kit with you.

From what I saw today McGahey, Williams and Delaney would be a decent bet to start the season with.

Williams was really impressive but every now and then I would have to do a double-take, thinking Vincenti was on the pitch.

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

I won’t, because there’s little point. Whoever decided on them doesn’t know what they’re doing and yet feels it’s appropriate that they can choose. That may be one or multiple people, but it doesn’t change the fact they’ve messed up.

Those are the facts. There is no discussion.

We made a championship side look very ordinary, I would say 60% possession and created better chances.
Hull will be pushing at top of there league so a very promising performance. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

I agree although I don't know how strong a side Hull put out.

My thoughts were that we were adopting an almost identical style to that of England in the World Cup, and we'd have probably thumped Panama today.

I'd like to see us try the "love train" from corners though!

And we could do with someone with Trippier-like quality on crosses.

Overall though we look solid, though we don't look like we've got goals in us.

Had to smile when some old bloke behind me moaned after 20 seconds, "keep the bloody ball. Get it forward."

Also thought tannoyman was better today. Finally, he's turned it down! Though I was disappointed he didn't read out the 11 simultaneous Hull subs.

More importantly, where were our Irish recruits. I reckon they’ve been made up.

Hull’s starting 11 was very strong, only from what I’ve read on hull forum.

Hull fans I spoke to said the team had around 6/7 who’d be regulars during the season

I thought Williams played well but sometimes tried too many clever passes around the area instead of getting rid. Perkins and Wlbraham were excellent. All in all the squad looks strong

Squad wise I’d be looking at cover for Done as Nthle seems the only option at the mo
