For Pete's Sake on 15:38 - May 14 with 4649 views | TwoPhillips | Met Clarke a few times and he was one of the most genuinely nice blokes - always happy to do autographs, talk about why we weren't doing well and no surprise he was a 'fans' favourite' wherever he went. Good luck to him for the future.

I could only really see Clarke getting a new deal - only one left who they may have considered is Perkins?

Bury are delighted to announce that centre-back Peter Clarke is our first signing of the summer.... The former Huddersfield Town skipper joins the Shakers on a two-year deal after leaving Blackpool at the end of the season. Clarke, who was released by Huddersfield Town a year ago, was a regular in Blackpool's starting eleven last season and was rated as one of the best performers in the side. The 33 year-old centre-back brings a wealth of experience to the side, having played more than 550 games throughout his career. He has also featured in England's Under 21's side, gaining eight caps between 2002 and 2003. Clarke began his career at Everton. During his time with the Toffees he made nine league appearances and had loan spells with Blackpool, Port Vale and Coventry City.
