The first one was certainly completely wrong. If you look at the Villa player sliding in, his uppermost leg was a good 18 inches off the ground, got nowhere near the ball and cracked the WBA player's shin. He should have got the yellow, not the WBA guy.
The second one was a bit less clear cut. Although the lad might have got a slight clip, he certainly made the most of it with a theatrical dive. I can see where the ref's coming from, but he could have used a bit of discretion and let it go. I also notice the ref didn't spot that Grealish was playing without shin pads. Should have been sent from the pitch beforehand and told to put them on. |  | | |
