So Who/what do we need in Jan on 17:10 - Dec 14 by fakekerby
I know it's mocked regularly as part of the presser but would Crouch really be a bad option for an affordable target man / alternative to Zamora?
yeah, you can just see sparky selling crouch to us, can't you? In October 2014 Crouch stated that he would like to remain at the Britannia Stadium for the remainder of his career. he obviously pulls some heart strings amongst supporters, but if crouch is the answer, you are asking the wrong question. 34 in january with still a couple of years left in his legs, but we need long term, younger and cheaper - to buy and maintain. supposedly on £50k a week. romance is dead - we don't need any more thrillers.
It's not what you've got; it's where you stick it.
A target man, a really good one. We've seen how effective we are with Zamora on song, we'd be even better with a younger, fitter version. We've got Vargas and Charlie for the other forward role.
Maybe a centre back as backup for Dunne when he starts getting knackered (and to help keep Rio out of the team).
That's it.

Any 62 year old striker with the grace of john curry on lithium and a pelvis made of self raising flour is nothing but an asset to a squad that could run 'Derek ' And his chums to a close second in a sprint.
if we factor in bobbys goal to game ratio that makes francis benali seem the diabolical offspring of a 1970/80's hotshot manage trois between simon garner ,frank worthington and john richards and we have the complete center forward.
id keep the totally unproven , young, dynamic, 6 million pound goalscoring midfielder jordan mutch who has represented england at every level bar senior , on the bench and harness niko's skill set , which i am told , suits the premiership better then the championship, which as we all know , he tore a new arsehole through last year.
if we know anything about the premiership we know it is all about slow patient build up, devoid of any pace and attacking the opposition like peter cooks ant in 'squatter and the ant' sketch.
with news of hoilett possibly leaving , only then , with barton, henry , niko etc advancing on the opposition at a quarter of an inch per century , will we see harolds plans come to fruition.
