Luton Town v Swansea City Kenilworth David Pleat Stadium Kick off 3pm
Match Officials Whose Tony is that jacket ? Tony Harrington ( whose coat ) will be the referee for Swansea City’s Championship clash against Luton Town on Saturday (3pm). The Cleveland official took charge of the Swans five times last season, he oversaw wins over Nottingham Forest and Rotherham, as well as the away leg against Barnsley in the play-offs, plus defeats against Huddersfield and Birmingham. Jacket will be assisted by Mark Scholes and Craig Taylor, while Darren Drysdale is the fourth official. Mark is related to Paul Scholes, possibly.
New Covid rules mean you can’t slowly drive your car near the ground or talk to a variety of ladies with money in your hand. Just in case, you understand. Wear a mask.
Never trust a hippy.
This is a huge opportunity for Luton boss Nathan Jones to sound absolutely ridiculous again and bemoan about referees, missed opportunity, and his stupid accent.
Nick Owen said he was a Luton fan, then he said this "However, I have a significant number of other commitments, with both my primary employer, the BBC, and other organisations. All of these demand long travel and unpredictable schedules and consequently I feel that I am unable to dedicate the time and effort that I feel the role now deserves."
Seriously though, this could easily be a defining game for Russell Martin, the swans have lost only once in the previous seven meetings. Luton draw a lot of games, expect a 1-1 draw. In the last meeting the swans lived life dangerously but won 1-0 at Kenilworth Road.
Luton Town: Simon Sluga, James Bree, Kal Naismith (capt), Harry Cornick, Luke Berry, Elijah Adebayo, Tom Lockyer, Reece Burke, Pelly Mpanzu, Henri Lansbury, Gabriel Osho.

Swansea City: Ben Hamer, Ryan Bennett, Kyle Naughton, Rhys Williams, Ethan Laird, Flynn Downes, Matt Grimes (capt), Liam Walsh, Jamie Paterson, Ryan Manning, Michael Obafemi.

This.
The blind sheep are leading the blind, on here and in the dug out.
The senior players wrest control and decision making from a hapless manager, and we salvage a point against a very poor Luton who were cruising to a much deserved 3-0 win.
And we are still languished haplessly near the foot of the table. Couldn't make it up.
So pleased you’re hurting lol. I hope this is the first of many for you - Cardiff supporting fraud.
Each time I go to Bedd - au........................

From 65 minutes? We could have scored 3 in the first five minutes of the 2nd half!
Totally dominated the 2nd half, and should have won it on chances created
Ok th first half was a horror show but still some go on about it as if the second half doesn't count for anything!
There are lessons that need to be leanred but then, I have said Piroe AND Obafemi have to start. It seems obvious that Ntcham is going to be a big player for us too. All 3 if fit and available must start.
Looking at the stats, we had 15 shots but only 3 on target, that needs to improve too. With all that possession we need to do better in attack, we need to make more chances and have more shots. We can't wait and look to make perfect chances, we have to gamble sometimes with the forward pass.
I was concerned that we were going to get a right hiding but all credit to them all for fighting back and nearly pinching it. Maybe what this also shows is we don't have the strength in depth we need to change the team too much? STill though, as negative as I was feeling at half time ( at about 75 minutes we took the dog for a long walk) when I got back and found out we'd salvaged a draw I was ecstatic, it was much more than I'd expected. We can enjoy the positives but they have to learn from the mistakes that showed up so clearly in the first half.

Let's hope it is, and Winter sits him down and spells it out clearly.
Luton and Jones outfoxed us without really trying. Their 2nd half gameplan was poor, and executed even more poorly.
Half decent teams can easily snuff us, it's all far too predicable and obvious surely even to the likes of some of the beauts on here.
It wasn't Martin that got us playing like we did 2nd half. The senior layers yet again took it upon themselves, allowed Grimes to orchestrate alone (instead of having 2 deep lying CDMs, Downes the spare part).
In so doing the players salvaged a point. Yet again. Against lowly Luton, ffs.
If the players salvaged a point then you have to blame them for going 3-0 down!!

People need to understand
Passing for passing for passing sake doesnt win games
Shooting at goals can win games.Piroe does this,as does Monsieur. Both started on the bench.
Both are looking ,as Russ says for match fitness so pick em to start .Dont mess them around.Make them feel the main men. They are. Ntcham has real class and we should use him . Obafemi needs games and should have been the one to start o the bench.
Grimes has to be replaced as both captain and player. A captain controls the mind set. Ours was appalling for 45 mins. We should not forget this.
We drew the game, not won.Hence no need to celebrate as we are.
All the clubs at the bottom WON so we need to WIN and WIN soon to avoid relegation pressure. Derby will battle a will Forest and Blackpool won away today. Nobody is "safe" so let us not get ahead of ourselves after drawing a game. Why did we not start with that team and that attitude. This is down to manager and captain. Fact.
I accept, adly,Martin will stay .He is lucky to have players who can really play but it is all about allowing to do so and not messing them about.
Naughton should not start at Centre Back .Ever.
A weird game and one where it feels like we have won but we have to be realistic and ask questions -as we should. Those who cant stomach question are the ones to find summat else to do rather than call people utter morons on here.

Piroe and Obefami up top next game, Ntcham in the hole.
Who plays in midfield
Cabango instead of Bennett.
Left wing back is an issue.
Cabango has mistakes in him, but has to start he's not gonna make those mistakes and learn from them if he doesn't, he did very well when he came on, Williams is an out and out Centre Half and should be played as such.

He may well be a good manager but there seems to be a bit of ego/stubbornness at the moment.
He needs to be able to change his plan when it clearly isn’t working.
I understand he wanted us to be a total possession team, but having 70% possession and doing nothing with it is killing us.
This has been clear for quite some time and have explained it in great detail. I hope after today we can get some more productive dialogue going instead of being met with this nonsense “time” response.
He did change the plan when needed. It clearly wasn't working so he made 3 subs. Brave. Williams was having a mare, so that was a good sub. The other 2 speak for themselves.
The first half was poor, admittedly. But it's still early days. He was trying something in the first half, with some very tired players.
Nttcam and Walsh are still clearly not ready to play a full game. RM obviously thought Walsh could do the job today., whilst probably wanting Ntcham for the Brighton game. Piroe I assume was similar. He though Oba could do the job while resting a tired Piroe.
He was wrong and it didn't work. I'm sure he will admit that after the game.
It's not time to change tactics from the passing game. That isn't the issue. We are still trying to find the correct formation and starting XI. We still have players who aren't ready to play a full game. Some of our best at that.
What happened today can only be a good thing for our season ahead. Martin has no doubt learned plenty of lessons here. He surely knows better what his players can and can't do and what the starting XI should be more like.

But he is a kid and we specialise in bringing them in. What we need are real proven pros .
Our recruitment is shocking .
We are sinking, make no mistake about that
Think on the time Russ says HE should be given.
Us utter morons are often those who really do say it as it is.
Bye Russ
Personally I think our recruitment team is excellent.
I am very happy with the strength of the players we have brought in, and the strength of our squad depth. Also happy with the prices we managed to get all them in for.
I reckon we have one of the best backroom setups in the league. Shame we lost the England set piece coach, or it would have been even better

I think if we were out of the cup, like urm, Cardiff for instance,we may have started with a different 11, having a game Wednesday probably had something to do with resting some key players today, this could be the kick up the arse we needed, we've come back from 3 goals down, and could have nicked it at the end, not bad for a team struggling to score, what difference second half.
Yep I agree. I think he wants to do well in this cup. Brighton will play a weakened team. We have a great chance to go through . I think this was in the back of his mind, along with the fact that a few players are still not fully fit.

Here's another view, people have talked about Luton as if they are absolute rubbish which is not true but for context look at other results today, Forest lost 6 on the bounce but beat Huddrsfield 2 nil at the JS. Fulham lost at home to Reading, Birmingham lost to Peterborough and Preston held WBA. This division is very similar, there are only a few standout teams and Bournemouth aside, they all dropped points today.
I noticed the comments about blaming Martin for the first half but crediting only the players for the recovery, AC is clearly a WUM and in no way a swansea supporter. He's here to try and cause arguments in my opinion but when I log in his posts vanish which is the best thing that can happen.
In a couple of weeks (hopefully) all the players will be up to speed, up to fitness and we'll see a settled side. I really hope that means Oba, Piroe AND Ntcham are all starters. As concerned as I was when we went 3 nil down the turnaround proves we have the ability to score and the resilience to come back. Resilience is a great quality.

Exactly. How can it be the managers fault and not the players, for losing the first half 3-0, But it's the players good work and not the manager that won the 2nd half 3-0!
People defending and people having a pop at Martin should have learned a lot today... Think both sides of the argument over Martin have proven and been proven to be wrong today.
But
The second half, we need to take that buzz on into the next game. We were never going to challenge for promotion and realistically are at best a mid table to top 10 team with all things going well... We are not a million miles off that in points and we all need to take today on board and use it to pysh on.

Better to spend enough time to get it right than have a knee jerk reaction and make changes that may not see any improvements but could make things worse.
