At the time we had Gomis on the books as well as Gylfi. Allen I presume would have wanted his Liverpool salary matched which Stoke would have agreed.
Times have changed and we have room for another high wage earner. Stoke have a series of high earners and may decide to off load Joe if he expresses a desire.
