NHS cyber attack in England 17:01 - May 12 with 5015 views | Private_Partz | The Tory's lack of investment in Public Service chickens are coming home to roost. Old systems can't cope with such attacks. Not in Wales at the moment but I fear for systems here as well. Anyone tried using My Health Online? I find it a right bloody mess. More such attacks in the Public Sector are likely imho.

NHS cyber attack in England on 17:22 - May 12 with 3781 views | Wingstandwood | Shocked me! A guy on Sky News said that many trusts are still using Windows XP, a totally unsupported and outdated system with no security updates SHOCKING! On a personal note a relative of mine had a ransomware infection and I managed to remove it by means of a YouTube tutorial from 'Britech 09's' video(s) channel. Ransomware can present itself in an utterly malicious fashion falsely claiming to be police/law enforcement saying the infected PC's user has been caught watching, downloading, distributing illegal stuff e.g. porn, drugs, movie/music piracy etc. It then asks for a 'fine' to be paid. It's software engineered by utter scumbags!

Better tell the BBC and the NHS that it is not an attack then. IT development is something that is sadly lacking across the Sector due to lack of investment. Poor procurement can play a part as well. Sections of Scotland are being hit as well now....

NHS cyber attack in England on 17:45 - May 12 with 3755 views | TacticalTesticle | Currently working in IT at one of the larger Welsh Health Boards. In all fairness we are pretty well funded.... As for our cousins across the border... No idea, but looks like they are obviously not :( I guess its the world we live in now, if anything funding should go into staff education. A member of staff has to run these files (I doubt their network had be compromised), and the majority will be something like an email attachement, again which begs the question how did it even get through :( Also first PS post in god knows how many years of anon stalking (ironically on a non football post haha)

Governments for many years have been shit with IT. WHAT ANNOYS ME EVEN MORE... is that GCHQ spends a shittonne of cash and time spying on/logging/cataloguing the UK population when it would be better to be improving the defences of our national bodies IT infrastructure - They are a bunch of self-serving vvankers (the spooks).

Wouldn't you think they would have the same system ?, in light of this perhaps not or did Wales just get lucky or has Wales got a more robust system ?

NHS cyber attack in England on 07:19 - May 13 with 3347 views | squarebear | Wasn't it only in the last decade that shed loads of cash was spent on a new (apparently barely fit for purpose) IT system for the NHS? Yet they've not updated their OS from a version that's been unsupported for three years? That's incompetent. I wish a pox upon the people who've instigated this attack, of course, but the NHS should not be taking chances with people's health. [Post edited 13 May 2017 7:20]

NHS cyber attack in England on 10:10 - May 13 with 3251 views | pikeypaul | £11 billion was spunked by Labour on the failed NHS computer system that's was binned after a few years. Windows XP which was released in October 2001 so both parties are at blame for not updating.

NHS cyber attack in England on 10:40 - May 13 with 3218 views | pikeypaul | The contracts for the £11 billion feck up were signed in 2002 in the middle of Labour bankrupting us and they still had 7 years after in power. It was only after the coalition got in and realised what a mess Labour had made of it was it binned. You obviously do not understand the timeline so please keep quite.

'Labour bankrupting us.' Seen our national debt these days paul? Blair was as much in thrall to finance as any Tory. Not going to defend the NHS computer f*ck up, just commenting on the phrase you used.
