Onuoha and Assou-Ekotto 14:25 - Feb 1 with 6777 views | RangersAreBack | Burnley exposed these 2 for what they are - average at best. So Assou-Ekotto can pluck a ball out of the air. Great, but he can't defend for toffee and makes ludicrous decisions in dangerous areas. I can see now why 2 successive managers at Tottenham had no interest in recalling him. | ![](/images/avatars/1928.gif) | | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
Onuoha and Assou-Ekotto on 14:27 - Feb 1 with 3656 views | 08olesen | Think that is harsh, nedum out of position and BAE just had a bad game. He has been brilliant for the rest of the season. | ![](/images/avatars/6938.gif) |

Onuoha and Assou-Ekotto on 14:32 - Feb 1 with 3608 views | RBlock | BAE had the same positives and negatives as he always does. He was faaaaar to casual on the ball on multiple occasions, costing us 1 goal, nearly more. This has been an issue all season, however we did see his class when he was spraying around some of those passes over to the right hand side. Frustrating as ever though, I do want to throttle him most of the time. Onouha I thought did alright today. He looked uncomfortable on the ball at times, and ran out of options and seemed to panic. He defended relatively well, I think Junior was more to blame for the 2nd, and he is playing out of position as has been said, aswell as not getting a regular run of games due to injuries. He is quality player and will just get better. | ![](/images/avatars/3461.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
Onuoha and Assou-Ekotto on 14:32 - Feb 1 with 3603 views | CamberleyR | Give it a rest. We all know Ned is no right back, he's a very good centre back playing out of position. I slightly agree about Assou-Ekotto. I don't see him as the messiah at left back that some seem to do. His sloppiness cost us one and very nearly two goals today. | ![](/images/avatars/1250.gif) |

Onuoha and Assou-Ekotto on 14:33 - Feb 1 with 3599 views | RangersAreBack | Nedum came to us as a right-back. Unfortunately he hasn't mastered this position so he now operates as cover for both right-back and centre-half. | ![](/images/avatars/1928.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
Onuoha and Assou-Ekotto on 14:37 - Feb 1 with 3574 views | CamberleyR | Er, he wasn't cover at centre back when he started the first seven league games of the season in that position with Hill shunted out to left back. | ![](/images/avatars/1250.gif) |

Onuoha had a good game overall but with Hoilett was at fault for the second. Neither closed down. Mitigation it was both players first game back for a while. | ![](/images/avatars/1415.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
Onuoha and Assou-Ekotto on 14:37 - Feb 1 with 3569 views | BklynRanger | I thought Nedum had a good first half, but he drifted into his natural position in the middle for their second goal and Hoilett didn't do a thing to help him out. He should be starting at CB. If we got Hughes, and Hughes is fit to play, and Hughes is more comfortable at right back then why didn't we just start the bastard? I don't think Nedum was our problem today anyway. Ekotto is full of skill but their 3rd and almost 4th showed the difference between having skill and applying it properly, today at least. | ![](/images/avatars/2096.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Get a grip - Nedum is a good centre back and has the ability to cover at right back - he never came to us as a right back - successive managers have stuck him out at right back and he does he an OK job covering in that position....... What possibly makes you think right back is his natural position......????? Ekotto has natural flair and skill on the ball when attacking BUT he is a defensive liability, he screwed up for there second goal and will continue to make mistakes when defending, his positional play when defending is poor, when you watch him in the Ellerslie Road stand you can see his poor positional play, that said against most teams in the division he will look class Burnley are not your average team [Post edited 1 Feb 2014 14:48]

Onuoha is yet another Hughes master stroke. Upon signing Hughes said: "He is very versatile. He can play centre-back or right-back and has good pace." In my book "versatile" means jack of all trades, master of none. Some time it happens" | ![](/images/avatars/2744.gif) |

Eh??? How do you work that out? Dunne and Onuoha started five games at centre back from the third league game in with Hill shunted to left back to accommodate Dunne. That partnership ended when Onuoha got injured against Brighton, after which Hill was again put in at centre back and did really well in partnership with Dunne making it difficult for Harry to drop either of them when Onuoha got fit. | ![](/images/avatars/1250.gif) |

How many games have you actually watched Onuoha play live, my guess is not too many, hes a quality centre back at Championship level who in most peoples opinion could step up to the Premiership without too much problem. I accept hes not a natural right back, he is without question a centre back, why the F would you take any notice of what that tw*t Hughes has to say. Nedum was doing a fantastic job at centre back until he got injured and now Harry doesn't want to drop the pub landlord or the club captain, so Nedum has sat on the bench when he has been fit but believe you me IF and its a big IF we get promoted hes one of the few who could step up to the Premiership......IMO of course...... | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

dunne was marking Ings as the cross came in for the first, Ings pulled off a yard or two and Dunne didn't go with him, hence he had the space to get his shot away without a challenge. | ![](/images/avatars/2744.gif) |

2nd goal Hoilett just watched as Kightly crossed for the goal. That's why he is as much to blame as anyone. Could've got closer and prevented the cross instead of not making a challenge.
