Leicester City After Graziano Pelle Thursday, 28th Jan 2016 09:44 Leicester City could be about to launch a shock bit to take Graziano Pelle to the East Midlands as they look to boost their bid for Champions League football.
Leicester City are being linked with a move for Graziano Pelle and if reports are correct could make a starting bid of £5 million for the Saints striker.
Although the Foxes have Jamie Vardie, they lack a little firepower in other areas with the only other scorer of note in the Premier League being midfielder Riyad Mahrez.
Leonardo Ulloa has scored only twice & Shinzi Okazaki four times, apart from these four no other player has scored more than once and Leicester are well aware that any problems with Vardy and Mahrez would leave them struggling to score goals.
Therefore Pelle would be a good option for them being proven at Premier League level.
From a Saints viewpoint any bid over £5 million would have to be taken seriously and with Leicester desperate to cover their Achilles Heel they could go even higher in what could work out a cheap price if Pelle were to boost their goal power and fire them into the Champions League.
Although Saints would prefer to keep Pelle at least till the summer, the reality is that his value will drop at that point and an offer worth far more than what Saints are likely to get at the end of this season could well tempt Saints who feel that they have good striking options even if the Italian was to depart.

I really like Pelle as a Target Man and focal point for our play, but even I have to admit that with Shane Long in the side we actually look more dangerous going forward - That out and out pace has proven to scare even the best defenses and I honestly see Pelle now as our 3rd choice (behind Long and Austin)... Take the money and look to secure a new up and coming 6'0 plus striker in the summer (unless we can start getting the best out of Sam Gallagher).

I'd like to see Pelle and Austin given a chance to play together before we make any rash decisions. Could be a prolific partnership with Pelle teeing up Austin with those chest downs he seems to love.

Please not to another premiership side. Also if he leaves he will be wanting 1st team play before the euro's and he won't get that at Leicester with Vardy in electric form and their whole game plan being being based around counter attack and pace. I agree about previous poster that Pelle and Austin could be great pairing if a team parks the bus against us.

Leicester City! Do me a favour, they'll be back in the Championship next year. Are there any nice beaches up there Graziano?

For fear of repetition. Why on earth would we wish to let a proven goal scorer leave just because Austin plays for less than ten minutes and scores one goal against a truly dreadful Man Untd? Will Pelle's value reduce drastically if we keep him to the end of the current season? I think not. Austin's fitness needs to be proven before we let anybody go let alone to a rival premiership club.

Sorry, no disrespect Leicester, and you are having an incredible season, but this wouldn't be a move upwards or ultimately one that fits in line with what Pelle might want for a final big move, i.e. Seria A. As others have stated Leicester would need to change their game to suit Pelle's game. They'd be better off going after Long and Mane, and they probably couldn't afford either of those two. It will be interesting to see where they finish this season. Next season could be a huge challenge for them. I'm a great believer that success is built up slightly over time..

Could it be the rumors of Vardy to ManCitihad or Chelski are true and they are setting up his replacement? But like previous posters say, he doesn't seem to suit their style of play. I too would like to see what he can do with Austin.

Completely off thread but driving up the M3 today I followed and eventually overtook Jose Fonte in his rather nice Bentley motor car, and can report that he drives like he speaks - with moderation and courtesy. A complete gentleman and a fine example to others.

Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t.
