My first game at Goodison Park was Xmas 1974, I made the short trip on the bus from my Aunties house and watched them play Middlesbrough from the Gwladys Street end, they still had the Toffee lady throwing sweets, i remember the wall at the front of the terrace was about 5ft high, you could just about see above it.

West Sussex Saint, I agree Saints are a business like any other, however as i said in the article it is about know your market and for that matter your competition.
It will do well initially as people take a look, but then as it gets colder, people will get fed up of drinking overpriced cooking lager in a tent in the middle of winter and go back to a pub 10 minutes up the road a lot warmer and a lot cheaper.

I am not sure why some Saints supporters feel it necessary to slag off certain players when they have left, Charlie Austin hasnt played for us for 5 years to be more exact, but he played a part in our history, albeit not one as big as others, comparisons can be drawn with Ross Stewart here in terms of signing a player with injury issues, but he scores some vital goals
He played League 2 last season comfortably, so he playing well below his level.
Im not sure what you remember now . but this is simply a story that is of interest to some Saints fans and has been in the national news, I'm simply happy to give a local club a bit of publicity and help get a few through the gate and money into our non league clubs, what is wrong with that.

There is offering below market value and there is taking the ****, KWP is probably worth between £20-25 Million, he is 27 and at the peak of his career, Flynn Downes is worth about £12 million, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg is just about to go for £17 million yes he is older but far more experienced.
Downes as much as we love him down here has played just 21 Premier League games mainly as sub totalling 743 minutes, he is not proven at Premier League level, whereas KWP is.
So £10 million plus Downes was not far off the mark for KWP |

Bowlercow- i am not sure that you are telling the right story here, the Dell was sold to Barratt Homes who developed the site, Barratt Homes were a major building company founded in 1958 Lowe has never has never been a director of them.
Of course he built St Mary's on borrowed money, most clubs do. I think the borrowed amount was around £13 million if I am correct and we serviced that debt with no problem up to the time he left in 2006.
Our financial problems happened after Lowe had left, Michael Wilde spent money and sanctioned wages when he did not have the cash to cover the payments and as the club could not service its debt it was on the verge of administration in June 2008 when Lowe returned.
The timing of administration was only relevant if we had stayed up in our own right and then the deduction was applied, in simple terms we needed to have finished outside the bottom 3 for the 10 point deduction to apply, we didnt so it was carried on till next season.
I met Lowe on dozens of occasions, he was from a different background from me that was for sure, but I didn't judge him on his character, just on what he did or didn't do, yes he may have had a supremist attitude, but then again show me a football club CEO/Chairman/Owner who doesn't, if you spoke to most of the staff at St Mary's during his time there, they didn't hate him and one thing is for sure when compared to Nicola Cortese Lowe looked like a card carrying socialist. |

Undoubtably that was a poor decision and one that cost the club dearly, but many other club Chairman/CEO's have made bad appointments, this does not make him a stain on the clubs history. It could also be said that he didn't want Redknapp, he wanted to reappoint Glenn Hoddle
He also appointed Gordon Strachan who was one of the clubs most popular managers at the club |

Without being too uncharitable, there is a big difference between being a top pro and a top player, Yoshida was certainly a top pro whilst at St Mary's but he was a good back up player as shown by the actual number of appearances he made, we have top pros such as Jack Stephens, we need top players |

Basic contract law does not always apply to football and the laws differ depending on the situation, if a player is out of contract he can negotiate with other clubs in the last six months of his current deal, but only if they are from abroad.

Sorry but it is disgusting, it is profiteering, no one is expecting them to see the seats cheap, if it was the normal price charged it would be fair enough, supply and demand and all that, but when you up the price from £90 to £210 that is just wrong.
