Manager question aside......which players should be sacked..? 16:26 - Jan 14 with 2216 viewsAlbert_Whitehurst

In most walks of life, you perform poorly at your work...you get sacked. There's a few contenders in the Dale squad who should be shown the door!!

I'd sack the lot.....in my opinion we have not had one good performer consistently this season. I would not bat an eyelid at anyone of them leaving, cant remember the last time i thought that!

At the end of the day you get what you pay for..
Constant loanees.
A clueless inexperienced man city youth coach..
A caretaker manager whos level looks like youth coaching..

Who who would i sack?
Top of the Tree why CD of course as hes as much responsible as the others..

Not so much a question of sacking, but some players are just not good enough. Holden, Jordan, Jones, Thompson are not players to keep us up. They may be able to make bit part contributions but they're nowhere near consistently good enough for a relegation battle.

The loanees discussion becomes exhausting.

CD let eyre ruin the loan market.
CD let Ogrady go.
CD let Done, Wiseman go.
CD brought in Beech.
Need i go on..

I understand your frustrations. However i could only agree if a qatar based shiek wanted to plough some money into the club. You are right though to point out that CD appointed both managers and told us how initially Eyre beat off competition from an impressive field. A bit worrying is that Eyre just beat off competition from Beechy, this tells me one thing the cheap option.

And ultimately oversees a commercial organisation, not renowned for its commercial acumen?

If he sorted out the commercial side, we would have more income and ergo, he .(and others) would have to financially support the club less.

Are you going to provide the financial input to cover the shortfall between income and expenditure? Somehow I doubt that.

Dunphy does a good job at managing the finances of the club, or would you prefer the club to go the way of Darlington by spending well beyond our means?

Managers have been back and we have a large squad. We had a least 7 players who were not on the bench who are 'our players'. What we need are fewer player but of a better quality. Most people can see that we are crying out for creative and pacey wide players, but we bring in more defenders and centre forwards.

You are a complete tool.

Ogrady was gone irrespective of who the manager was.
Done and Wiseman will have been offered wages far off what we could give them.

To try and blame these on CD is ridiculous. And to say get rid of CD is just silly.

Sppt on..
If dunphy put the effort in to get a grip with the commercial side like he did searching for a manager in the summer.
Then this club would have a bit more dosh.....

I do not understand why we have not tried to fill in the winger positions or at least tried to sign a centre half. Our defensive record is now (quite unbelievably because i thought it would be the worst) the third worst in the division. Looking at how many strikers we have, big questions have to be asked, as we have the worst attack in the league.

Don't think for one minute I'd want Chris Dunphy to leave this club, he's an amazing bloke and has put a lot into Rochdale AFC.

BUT:

Not one person at RAFC can come away with any credit with the season so far. Players, Management, Commercial, Office and Board.

CD oversees all of that as Chairman. The buck starts and stops with him.

The comment elsewhere about "like the 1980's" is telling . Is that really where we want to head back to?

For a start, if I ever see Joe Thompson wearing a Dale shirt again I'll puke

Why have I singled him out? Because he's not a professional footballer. The others have all either played at a higher level or have decent careers behind them

Today, JT was a complete and utter waste of a shirt when he should have been busting a gut to get himself back into regular contention, and the team back on track

In effect, we started the game with ten men

And yes,I know several players had mares (not least Jordan... hope he does better in the remaining 1.5 years ) but again, at least he can call himself a footballer

JT had a complete mare today. Looked like he just wasn't interested, and furthermore, has no desire to better himself.

So did (in descending order of "mareness")

Holden...responsible for 2 goals. Never a full back at L1 level.
Widdowson... responsible for 1 goal...possibly should have been given straight red. Hopeless today
Jones...looked like his boots were on the wrong feet; so bad was his control and passing. Rubbish.

Adams...looked half asleep. Got no help from Holden though.

Holness...some good stuff...mostly bad passing though.

Jordan... went worse after we were reduced to 10 men...ended up looking hopeless.

I forgot the most culpable of them all.

Beech.

Seldom have i seen such a wierd set of formations, such baffling tactics and such ridiculous substitutions. The decision to take JK off alone should cost him any chance of the job.

That's 2 points from 4 games. Certain relegation form.

I'm afraid that the Board have taken one too many cheap options this time.

Unless we appoint a SOD, John Coleman or similar within the next week, we will not only be relegated, but we will struggle to aviod the drop next year.

Why don't you add Hilly and Flicker to your list of people CD "let go" you're on a roll, your post has so many ridiculous points it's hard to know where to start, how do we stop any player from wanting to leave to play at a higher level and for multiple times their current salary? I'll just pop Cog into the equation we as a club offered him the highest wage of any Dale player in history for Weds to then offer him treble, just explain how it's CDs fault when any player makes his intention to leave and no longer wishes to play for our club? If you're going to post opinions at least base it on some facts rather than just shouting wild comments in anger

your last point is the biggest concern for me. What is staring us in the face (and has been all season) is the worry of a back to back relegation. Let's not kid ourselves that this current side would be anything other than bottom six in the division below.

From the game at Stevenage four games into the season, we have proved ourselves to be hopelessly out of our depth all season long. This is an utter, utter shambles, and it might make me less of a supporter, but I wouldn't have minded had Stevenage scored 6, 7, 8 etc once the game had gone away from us. We needed a bloody nose to simply highlight just how amateurish this football club has become.

2 losses from now and we are effectively relegated and only a miracle would save us,this is not going to happen .Going into the bury game on a run of 3 defeats would be unbearable and i cannot see a win coming at all . ( football gods intervene here please) TWEAK FOOKIN TWEAK

We are effectively down now so may as well build for next season, get some of our youth team in as they seem to win week in week out and get rid of every single loan player.

I agree, but still think it is not the individual players but the way they have been managed, and the way the squad has been chopped and changed all season. We have players who are individually good enough to compete in this league but they are not having the best brought out of them. How many times this season have we been excited about a new signing in their first match (Ball, Bunn, Bogdanovic etc..) and then some curse hits them and suddenly they become mediocre. I maintain that it is the way these players are being managed that is at fault.
