It amazes me that this quiz question spreads to non-Saints fans. Get him to join the forum and advise of his top 3 biscuits.

From an older generation , Saints beat Wolves 9-3 at the Dell in September 1965 at the start of our promotion season to the top flight. The following season we signed the goalkeeper who had played for Wolves that day Dave MacLaren, after Campbell Forsyth broke his leg He would play 22 games for the club in that first season in Division 1 before we signed Eric Martin. A facial injury affected his eyesight and he was forced to retire from professional football after just a season at the club, I suspect that the fans back then would have complained about the club wasting £7,500

I think they would have been more likely to complain about signing a goalkeeper who we had put 9 past. As with Leicester fans when they signed Bertrand (who was unluckily sent off TBF) and that useless lump Vestergaard, I suspect....

I believe Chris Marsden also played briefly for Wolves.
