Juric said Sulemana didn't recover fully from the Old Trafford game, hence him sitting on the bench.

Being pedantic, Juric hasn't played in any of them but I take your point.
He is doing the best he can with what he has and on the pitch, it seems that he can get a far better performance out of them than Russell Martin. Players that were sidelined are coming good and getting games which is improving them. Sadly I think we will lose him at the end of the season, just when the solid work he has put in starts to pay off. | | | |

The shoots are there but once again we have a manager whose selections and subs are baffling
Look at the last two games slightly odd starting line up against Manni big it looked to be working until he made 3 awful sub decisions
Yesterday two of our best players sit it out and AA comes in ahead of Onuachu and KWP is back at LB

Yesterday he played a Right Back at Left Back (KWP), a Right Back at Centre Back (Bree) whilst Wood and Bella-Kotchap sat on the bench, dropped Ugochukwu for Downes who himself seemed to be on a mission to be sent off. Ugochukwu replaced Downes at half time.
Sulemana was dropped, apparently tired?
The most ineffective front two of Armstrong and Archer started who both mustered zero shots between them for the 58 minutes they were on the pitch.
I’m no great fan of Onuachu but he is the best we have as a target man and he needs to start up front at least to be a ‘menace’.
I can’t see where Juric is going to get us a point from.
Another odd managerial appointment from Sport Republic.

Forest are counter attackers who like to win the ball in their own half and get forward quickly. Somebody like Sulemana may be fine for getting past the defender one time in three/four, but the times he loses it gives Forest a platform. Ugo is not the sort of player to be much help as he also gets dragged forward.
Look at the first Forest goal, simple thro in and our midfield was still jogging back and trailing their guy with the ball! With Sulemana et al that would have happened time and time again.
Only when Forest ran out of gas was it a gamer for those mentioned. | | | |

The game plan worked a treat!
3-0 down after 41 minutes and not a shot on goal from the starting forwards for the 58 minutes they were on.
Only when the subs came on after 58 minutes did we pose any kind of threat.
Sulemana, Onuachu and Manning came on, 2 minutes later we scored.
Juric has time on his side before the fans start on him but for the love of god play your best players and don’t play players out of position.

I'm very pleased that he's giving his team selection some thought.
I'm less pleased that the team he selected was pretty quickly 3-0 down.
I think all fans are going to be pleased with Juric's more attacking and aggressive style. It's more entertaining to watch than the Russell Martin borefest.
But the results are just the same.
We really needed a manager who could bring some solidity and start picking up points, even if only draws in the first instance.
Simon Rusk managed to do that at Fulham. | |
