He has made fck all appearances, fck all impact (bar 1 assist) and has not been missed. I keep saying, anyone at that WBA game would have seen he is not good enough.

Fair enough.
However, in the short period of time he has had on the pitch since the MC has been at the helm, he has created two goals, in spite of his perceived or actual "failings" on and off the pitch.
Compared to his peers of similar age, some of whom have sat on the bench in recent games, I would put him ahead of all of them: Bennie, Morgan and even Lloyd. He's nowhere near being a starter but has something to offer if nurtured correctly. [Post edited 18 Oct 22:23]

Extremely disappointing if he’s returned from injury unfit. It might be his body type is naturally “heavy” and unless he’s at full tilt constantly he can’t stay lean. However, still a shame if he/we haven’t been managing his fitness and diet properly whilst he’s been out. I imagine a back injury is tricky, in terms of what he can do without pain or aggravation, but surely not impossible. If it is, and he needs longer to get him fit, then be focusing on that rather than playing him, as the latter will likely increase risk of an injury and a longer lead time to him being match fit. |
Completely agree. He needs to come back in and galvanise the team yesterday. Of course, he's not had a close season, but he shouldn't be looking like a tub of lard. If we end up having to coax him through games until the New Year, it'll be a f*cking poor show. Already, our season is depressingly shaping up like under Ainsworth, with even some fans buying into this 'postponed expectations' thesis. Professional football clubs should be fit and firing at the start of a season, not after Xmas.
As far as I'm concerned, nothing less than a 90 minute performance, a dynamic victory, and a razor-sharp lesson in game management from the bench will do for me tomorrow. Let's f*cking do this, finally! [Post edited 18 Oct 22:24]
