England v Switzerland Quarter Final match thread
at 23:58 30 Jun 2024

Following our rousing success this evening it’s my pleasure to start the next match thread again as we stumble towards Euro success.

Foden and Saka out, Eze and Palmer in.
Centre midfield sorted after Mainoo’s decent performance.
Not sure about LB: stick with Trippier I guess?

England v Slovakia last 16 Match Thread
at 23:10 25 Jun 2024

We’ve had three match threads from a Southgate fan and three terrible England performances so surely it’s time to have one from a Southgate critic?

Walker switched to LB, TAA in at right back, Bellingham dropped back next to Rice, Foden central, Gordon on the left and Palmer on the right. Come on Gareth: you can do it!

Jude The Cat: GONE?
at 18:35 2 Apr 2024

Just seen a post on one of the QPR Facebook groups that Jude The Cat has been ‘Kurt Zouma’d’ and is no longer employed?

Anyone know anything about this? Has been a great mascot for a number of years now: better than Sparks and the fella with a football head.

Steve Cook

Got to say he has been our best signing for ages: a real leader, loads of experience and a great defender. Fan feedback from his previous clubs was unanimously positive and he’s been colossal in our relegation fight. By far our player of the season IMO.
Fantastic bit of business by the club and thank goodness we have him for a second year.

QPR & Gig double headers
at 15:58 28 Mar 2024

After the game tomorrow I’m seeing Pendulum at The 02 then after the Sheff Weds game it’s Underworld at Ally Pally.

Remember being at the end of season 4-0 drubbing at Norwich in 2017 (Josh Bowler’s only QPR appearance) and saving the day out by seeing the legend that is Big Daddy Kane that night at the Waterfront.

It’s a long old day and you need to pace yourself but can’t beat a good QPR/gig double header.

Sell Chair
at 11:25 27 Dec 2023

None of us are certain as to the transfer funds situation when the transfer window opens next week but everyone will agree that if we are stuck with this current bunch of totally inadequate players we are pretty much guaranteed to be relegated.

Worse case scenario is that we have no financial wiggle room to sign anyone, even on loan. If this is the case then IMO we should be already touting out Chair as available for sale as he is our best (only) option of getting decent money in. Get £3-4 million for Ilias, give the money to Cifuentes and hope to God he has already identified a few bargains from his time in Scandinavia.
And get Nakhi Wells back on loan from Bristol City.

A little tribute to my Dad
at 00:48 19 Nov 2023

My Dad died yesterday: he was a wonderful father and was married to my Mum for over 57 years.
My family were blessed to have him for so long and he will be missed so much.
As with many of us on here my Dad helped fuel my love of QPR.

Dad went as a kid to see his local team in Bournemouth, and when he first moved to London he went to see Tottenham in the mid Sixties with his mates. They also managed to get tickets for most of England’s World Cup matches at Wembley: he married my Mum later that year. Football had to take a back seat over the next years as they started raising a family and money was tight.

Unfortunately for him his eldest boy decided at a very early age that QPR was his team: he took me to my first game in 1978 (0-0 v Leeds) and I was hooked. We went to a number of Rangers games over the next few years and bless him also a few Tottenham ones as well as I think he was hoping I could be swayed but it wasn’t going to happen!

We got our first season tickets in 1981 and over forty years later we still have them. Over the years I have spent periods living outside London and couldn’t make many games so my brother went with Dad who always phoned me on the way home with a full report of the game.

Over the last few years he went to fewer and fewer games due to struggling to walk distances but always renewed: he loved going to games with his sons.

However good or bad QPR have been over the decades they have provided us with so much precious family time together and amazing memories and I really will miss the days out and long QPR chats with my Dad.

None of you will know my Dad but a lot of you will recognise the QPR connection I think.

God bless you Dad and thank you.

Is this the fanbase we have become?
at 09:36 6 Aug 2023

Disappointed by the mass bed wetting on here this weekend:a number calling for Ainsworth to go after the bloody first match of the season FFS. We are surely better than that.

Loads of negatives about the team and formation yesterday and the post match interview wasn’t great but do any of you think the squad we currently have available is what Ainsworth wants and isn’t the major factor for yesterday? The four experienced centre backs he had at the end of last season have gone or are injured. Laird not replaced. Midfield so weak that Dozzell is in the team.

Judge the guy after 5/6 games when we should have our better players fit and a few new players in the squad inc loans. McClaren had a disastrous start to his season but he was given a chance: surely Ainsworth deserves this? A lot of the current problems are down to those above him at QPR and those problems will remain whoever is the manager….

Our next Derry, Hill and Mackie
at 12:49 26 Jun 2023

As we wait for our first new signings of the summer it is clear to me we need to unearth this generation’s Sean Derry, Clint Hill and Jamie Mackie.

These guys were purchased cheap and were unheralded by our fans but made a huge difference on the pitch and provided proper leadership: this is just what we need as we had none of that last season.

Here’s hoping 🤞

Dozzell
at 09:40 15 Feb 2023

Critchley almost deserves to lose his job for firstly picking Dozzell and secondly leaving him on for 80 minutes.

Thought I’d watch him closely last night to see if I was missing anything about his talent: first half the data analysts would’ve loved him as his pass completion must’ve been nearly 100%. Unfortunately all of these were short passes sideways or back contributing nothing to our attack. A couple of safe longer passes out to the sides thrown in as well but anonymous overall.

Perhaps he was spoken to at HT about influencing the game more as early on he tried a few forward passes which went straight to a Sunderland player and led to attacks: after that he reverted to type apart from a ridiculous foul for a booking.

Only redeeming feature is he stays fit which is a big plus in our squad of sick notes. He’s the last player you’d want in a relegation battle IMO: clearly signed due to his misleading stats and surely giving a chance to a young midfielder like Dixon-Bonner would be preferable to seeing Dozzell again.

Player ratings on LFW
at 20:16 14 Mar 2022

I always enjoy rating the players on here after a game: I only do so if I’ve watched the whole game live or on TV and as I rarely get to away games my results might not be as ‘accurate’ as the general overall ratings on here.

My current top 3 rated players are in order:
Dunne
Adomah
Barbet

Bottom 3 are (reading up)
Kakay
Dozzell
Gray

This based on a minimum of 10 games to make it relevant.

LFW posters as a whole have Willock, Dunne & Dieng as the top three with Gray, Thomas, Kakay & Austin all very close at the bottom.

Anyone have anything wildly different?
