Ah, tonight’s game will bring memories back of that night when the sailors were all gushing over Henry, Ljungberg et al. One of the most vomit-inducing things ever witnessed during a game of football.

I trust Monsieur Cent Trente already has his half and half scarf for tonight’s momentous occasion.....

And even if they stop the fans going to Wembley next month, the Trophy game will still happen, so I think it's safe to assume it's 7-5 (even including normal league visits to Spurs).

Bearing in mind, you probably won't be overhauling us in a season, unless you win the FA cup, or get to both cup finals. Yes, it can be done, but your club's record suggests it would only be a 1 in a 1000 shot. Another mistake there, or is that a solid prediction?

You must be the life and soul of parties if that is yours ever invited to anything. You spend way too much time arguing away on a saints message board about how great your little tin pot team is. Each time with the charisma of Theresa May and Cliff Thorburn’s love child.

You’re by far the least amusing skate ever to come on here, and there have been a few.

You keep trying to go back to 'original' posts. They were corrected a while ago.

The visits to 'Wembley' for the Spurs game weren't finals or semi-finals. They were visits to another league club.

In terms of proper finals at Wembley it's 5-3
In terms of including other cup finals it's 7-5
In terms of lower league finals it's 2-1
In terms of semi-finals it's 2-1
In terms of official visits it's 11-7

Here's another record coming our way
https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/portsmouth-heading-ecl

Portsmouth heading to eclipse Millwall and Southampton to claim another Wembley attendance record

Pompey are poised to claim another attendance record at the new Wembley.

The 2008 FA Cup final against Cardiff attracted 89,874 — still the ground’s largest football crowd since its reopening 13 years ago.

Now the Blues could also become the biggest single fanbase present for a domestic fixture at new Wembley as a neutral venue.

As of yesterday, 42,500 tickets had been sold for their Leasing.com Trophy final against Salford on April 4.

However, the initial allocation allows for a maximum of 50,300 — with seats still to reach general sale.

That would eclipse the previous record established by Millwall in May 2009 at the League One play-off final against Scunthorpe.

According to Millwall’s official website, 49,661 Lions fans were present when Kenny Jackett’s side suffered a 3-2 defeat.

Other reports claim Southampton presently own the record, following their March 2010 clash with Carlisle in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final.

On that occasion, 44,000 Southampton seats were sold, although there were objections when further tickets were not made available.

Meanwhile, Carlisle accounted for around 22,000 in the total attendance of 73,476.

Incidentally, Millwall also proudly possess the record for the old Wembley — 47,349.

In April 1999, they experienced a maiden Wembley visit when facing Wigan in the Auto Windscreens Shield final.

Of that 55,349 crowd, a staggering 47,349 are listed as being Millwall followers.

Since new Wembley launched in March 2007, Spurs have used the venue for domestic matches over several seasons.

However, as a neutral ground, Pompey are closing in on establishing a new record.

There also remains the possibility the club could request additional tickets should they manage to sell-out their 50,300 allocation.

In the meantime, seats reach general sale on Friday, March 6, with online purchasing beginning from 3pm.

Phone sales commence at 10am on Saturday, March 7, while those wishing to buy in person from the Anson Road ticket office can do so from 9am on Tuesday, March 10.

Pompey sold around 42,000 seats for last season’s Checkatrade Trophy final against Sunderland, which they claimed on penalties.

The total attendance of 85,021 represents the highest in the history of the EFL Trophy.

Couple of inaccuracies

"The 2008 FA Cup final against Cardiff attracted 89,874 — still the ground’s largest football crowd since its reopening 13 years ago."

That figure is obviously just a guess as just watching a replay of the winning goal you can see Club Wembley has plenty of empty seats, you can see at least 30 empties in the Cardiff section next to CW, and segregation between 2 sets of fans(50 rows lower, 40 rows x2 upper tiers a generous, probably more 3 seat segregation = 390).

So the official attendance given is 126 short of selling out every seat, impossible.
I've contacted the Police freedom of information request for the real figure and they said not more than 39500

"Meanwhile, Carlisle accounted for around 22,000 in the total attendance of 73,476."

Never in a million years, lucky if they sold half that

I suspect that many Carlisle fans decided that after ticket sales were over, they just though, "lets go to Wembley again", even though that would be their fifth time. So, the final count included all the media, and Carlisle and Soton fans in club Wembley and elsewhere.

and btw, it looks like Pompey have almost sold their 50,300 allotment, and will be getting another 4-5,000 more tickets. Another record then, and overtaking Millwall's 49,000 and more record for one set of fans at Wembley for an official cup final.

The figures the Snooze quote are the allocations that both clubs were given
44k Saints 22K Carlisle (50% of Saints allocation) and have no bearing on the final sales. As everyone knows Carlisle returned nearly 50% of their tickets (This was why Saints could not get 10k more because they had sold tickets in different blocks) You only have to look at the game to see Saints had fans on 3 sides of the ground!! So 54k is what can be proved to be Saints

It's getting to the point that even after exaggerating your support at that game, that the number of tickets sold by Pompey will even beat those figures.

Pompey have now exceeded 50,000 tickets, and possibly the only thing stopping them getting this record is the coronavirus.
