I'm a Technology Recruiter. Been doing it for far too long, so attempting to work on contract. I have come to despise selling, which isn't good for the bank balance.
I have come to find:
A) People are a pain in the ar$e and don't like the truth. Everyone lies.
B) I don't like Recruitment people.
C) If you work for an agency they will do everything not to pay you or sack you in a heart beat.
D) It will slowly drive you mad.

I'm in marketing, currently at a US software company. At times, I get to work on the marketing for our energy management software product, enabling me to indirectly contribute to something which is very close to my heart - reducing CO2 emissions.
In the past, I have worked as a marketeer on weird and wonderful products like integrated circuits (your silicon chips), public network telecoms software, diesel filters and consumer electronics (tellies etc).
Not what I had in mind when I was studying French and German but I am happy with my lot.
