We have already stated on this website that the Swans have made contact with their main targets as early as November 20th. Then we stated via agents and intermediaries - plus the agents with Swansea City as a main interest, or employed by the club will also be working alongside Martin Hodge (recruitment team) and talks have been undertaken. We will look at those possibilities further on. We shouldn’t forget the work done by Paul Watson before he left, he is unable to work for around three months, possibly more since he left the Swans. Even though he did gain some compensation, he also signed a pretty extensive ‘None disclosure agreement’ That will also contain the passing on of information to other entities or interested parties.

The Swans have whatever Watson left behind. They also have Brett Cravatt now, he has been behind the scenes for around eighteen months creating a database not dissimilar (but we are told far more intricate) to Brighton and Hove Albion. Well, time will tell us how good that is. So there is a joint effort to make sure the Swans create a January landscape that looks clear and good to go. However, let’s not forget, and we have stated this for years, agents talk to agents and they in most cases are the first people to know when and who is available.

And then what is an interest or a potential transfer or an inquiry ? or even when a club feed certain agents of players they like, so they talk to other agents who can hurry things along. Parents call clubs off their own steam, players do the same. Players who also know someone at any club will make the coaching staff aware of their interest in leaving their current club. And then of course there is Kris O’Leary on his searches throughout Asia, well, he did recommend Eom ! The list and eventualities are endless.

This is why some of the more anal accounts on social media we find hilarious to read. Wanting to be first, second before another account or going quiet when they eventually get it wrong. And that latest comment is a valuable statement. Remember, ‘there is no more free radical as folk’ What’s done today can be undone hours later. No player in the frame to join Swansea in January holds any interest in the club, its fans nor the Swans reputation. We should always remember that, players such as that are as rare as - quite a few things that are quite rare. What is done today will and usually does collapse the next, it happened on several occasions to the Swans this summer. As Luke Williams once again confirmed our reports in November, there is some cause for caution. “Yes, we are ready to strike as soon as the window opens. But that doesn’t guarantee anything as there’s always a third party with a different set of problems’ As we highlighted above, it’s all about what people can get for themselves. We should add there were two others there but we don’t know who at this time.

That is reassuring as the new investors at a much higher level within the club are clearly willing to see the figures available and where able they can assist with transfers - where profit and sustainability allows. As Luke says, “We are quite advanced with the preparation, I don’t want to give the wrong impression, we still have to wait for the other parties to be in the correct place” It was interesting for us to note that investor Keith English was also at the game. More on him as we go into the new year. So, where are the Swans looking ? Rumour and speculation is all we have but the club has identified more pace on the wings, and more of a goal return up front. Ben Cabango and Harry Darling are fast approaching January, and don’t listen to those who say nothing can be arranged for them at other clubs. You have heard what Luke Williams has already said on players and communication. And we have always carried several reports on the work of an agent and intermediary plus all the other factors. The rules aren’t being broken, just bent to suit, that’s how it works. Ever since this website has started we have made that clear, despite some wise guys stating it isn’t right.

Players out will be an interesting watch, we genuinely believe that Olympiacos are willing to take Nelson Abbey back, but the fine print in his loan needs to be conformed with. Dependent on the view of Swans number two keeper, Jon McLaughlin and his liking of a new contract will depend on what happens to Andrew Fisher. Luke has made it clear he won’t be in the squad in the foreseeable. Once the number two keeper contract is sorted then we believe Andy Fisher will be loaned out for the rest of the season. And Nelson Abbey if possible will leave the club.

On the ratio of players we are looking at we think two of the players the Swans want will be on a loan basis, and potentially two purchases, but that is now, what happens then will provide a far different ending to January. And for all the jumping up and down we can assure you the list of probables and possibles is as long as anyone’s arm.

Abdullai Azeem desperately needs a long consistent run of starts. Somewhere like Newport perhaps?. He is only getting cameos out of position. Kyrel Wilson and Lloyd could also go on loan.
