It seems that the more comply the more you're targeted, giving with one hand and taking from the other has never been so apt . and y the target again are pensioners , Its easy when you are guaranteed yours should you even as a complete and utter failure Reeves will be found out to be , the likes of her will continue to live in comfort ,at an earlier age for a predicted longer time. £158,851 for fugging up the country ( as have others before the what about brigade arrive)

If this turns out to be true, well I'm 9 years away from retirement but assuming I get there I already know I'd be paying tax on that 12,631 (if it's accurate) because I already recieve an occupational pension which is itself above the personal allowance threshold.

So much for working had, preparing for my retirement and not being a burden on the state. People like me are now seen as a cash cow,
I mean, why let the old have a comfortable retirement and be able to enjoy what is left of their life.

Though obviously this could all be a load of tripe, lets hope. Because people who only have the state pension often struggle, they've had the WHA removed and we wondered what was next...

I've just had a letter that my state pension from April this year will rise by £30 , not a lot in the scheme of things when you consider the next rise in fuel is to be announced , inflation on the rise , water rising to astonishing levels and because I have a private pension I'm over the threshold and pay tax, so just with those first two that £30 is long gone .The Government are not stupid ( hard to believe at times I know) but to continuing to leave the triple lock as it is will obviously drag more pensioners into falling into paying tax also their benefits may s cease.

Easy solution to this. Abolish the triple lock and increase pensions in line with inflation or wages alone.

A pensioner will get a 5.5% increase an NHS carer likley to get about half of that.

No wonder we need immigrants

We don't " need all " , some yes and those with the relevant professional skills. Huge difference .

That would be great. We just can't afford it for a couple of years yet.

We could "afford " to give train divers and their like a rise ,even though their not essential services or maybe we could stop giving 2.3 billion to India, that may help .

I like the absurdity of the Government paying a state pension and then claiming some of it back in tax.

It is good business not absurdity. The Government helped me build up my pension fund. This helped ma and helped them as i will not be burden on the state and can pay my own way after a working career and no weekly income.

I will get down arrowed by people who did not make financial plans as they believed people who told them the markets were too risky.

The Government gave me tax breaks when I was 25-59 and will get most of it bank with when I am over 60.

Listen to the forum "waste of space WUM" and get your young family members to put £150 -£200 in a lifetime ISA and invest it in the S&P 500. It is generous.

People will say the S&P 500 is US stocks and no use to UK. But this is wrong. American are effectively working for me putting dividends and growth into my funds and I can take it out and will spend it in the UK mostly.
