Was wondering what people's verdicts were on his half-hour cameo vs Lavatory Town? And also Marti's decision to insert him in midfield (and whether this was a one-off)?
Will/could/should he be a starter going forwards, and if so, who gives way? Is there likely to be any case for him displacing Varane permanently? If he's as good as we hear, might he instead be competing strongly with JCS for a centre back berth? (He's only 21, but, amazingly, he's played almost as many games as Jake, who is six years older.)
Finally, I'm aware he's a loanee, and we're unlikely to be in a position to do a deal for him in June, but who knows? If Saints come down as looks inevitable, and we have a good second half of the season, stranger things have happened.
Hard to tell wasn't it as I thought we went 5 at the back until I realised he was hovering around in midfield an awful lot. Made a good pass and I think a tackle and covered the channels as best he could.
I think his introduction confused everyone, good job Marti. I think that's where some credit is due, often think his subs are odd but on reflection I think this one was rather smart.

When Southampton play in the Championship next season he'll be playing for them as a starter. Not a hope in hell he'll move to us, they bought him for £3m. We don't have £3m, though maybe we could swap him for Madsen!
He seemed decent, good on the ball, physical. I wouldn't have him starting unless it's to give players a rest. He is a loan, don't get attached.
I thought he was excellent when he reverted to the back four/five, They had four forwards up top as the game progressed. He looked quick , took no shit from Morris and was vocal , also calm on the ball when he had time and launched it when necessary. Very impressive start .
Thought he was ball watching a bit for that McGuinness last minute header which missed by mere millimetres. Not that anyone else covered themselves in glory either. Zonal marking, a lot to take onboard in a week.

That's some amount of shìt as from what I could tell, Morris spent the entire 90 minutes honking. It amazed me he was able to get sufficient oxygen on board for cardio around the bleating - moaning about the ball, the pitch, our players, his players, the ref, the ambient temperature, the disenfranchisement of the Chagossians. He didn't fùcking stop. All the better for us as there's a handy striker in amongst the whinging.

Agree 100%.
Weird decision to start him in midfield for me but sometimes, needs must, and I’m glad he got minutes.
Looked much better in the back 4 and then 5, especially with JCS next to him.
Great hair but shocking Alice band. No need unless Posh Spice demands it.
Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Never really understood this mentality tbh. We have had many loan players who have made significant contributions to the club (usually to our survival in the Champ in recent years). Back in the day this might have had more traction, when a player could stay with one club and loyalty actually was a thing. Nowadays, all players are mercenaries, doing a job for their current employees, but with one eye on the next step in their career. This is not a criticism, it is the world we live in and it applies to many jobs outside football. For me, once a player pulls on the QPR shirt, he's ours - until he isn't.
It is hard to shake the niggle that we're simply training a guy up for bloody Southampton, currently on six lousy points in the Premier League, to use against us in this league next year.
A lad, by the way, who we could once again have signed ourselves at any point while he was playing down the road at fcking Barnet, or earlier on at Peterborough, and are no once again reduced to loaning - Jamal Lowe, Albert Adomah etc.
But, one, Steve Cook is massive for us. Losing him and Morrison at once, for some time, I think they've done right seeking emergency cover there. JCS is clearly back to his fragile state again.
And, two, Southampton are centre back heavy and will come back into this league and do exactly what they did last time - take £80m in TV money and £80m in player sales and spaff it all on 20 new signings, some of whom are bound to be centre backs, Not beyond the realms of possibility this lad comes available permanently for us down the tracks.
I don't have issues with loans and his signing was required due to Cook and Morrison being out for long period and Clarke Salters injury record too.
Think he could be very adaptable and I think he will add to our squad nicely.
Obviously Southampton signing off this loan suggests they have given up completely on avoiding relegation which would suggest this thinking is almost a certainty anyhow.
I can't see why they would not have him back next season, but as others have said, loans are part of the way things are now.
Last couple of seasons people such as Hayden, Lowe have helped us avoid relegation and see this as a positive signing.
Great business for me. And to get done so quickly suggests our recruitment team need a pat on the back for this one definitely.
