Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 17:35 - Aug 6 with 1930 views | Fireboy2 | I won't comment on today's game as I didn't go and imho people with narratives against RM who didn't go shouldn't comment either but that's just my opinion. My opinion on martin is he needs to try and play a different system as better teams like today will punish us, we do not have any pace so therefore shouldn't be playing wingbacks, unless he changes we will struggle and he could be gone by Sept and I for one would welcome it. It is your opinion and its worth no more or less than anyone else's. What you saw on tv is what the fans who were there saw. It's that simple. You want more, keep Martin. The whole season is ahead of us. Fancy Third level next year. That's the latest "narrative" the latest buzz word

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 17:47 - Aug 6 with 1796 views | BryanSwan | Would just like to start off by saying how absolutely bang average Blackburn are, created nothing, barely played. Tripe. No moving onto us, we lacked pace, the was no movement, the centre halves were pedestrian on the ball, our midfield was non existent. I was expecting a much better showing after last week, but this was just as bad, maybe worse. A few more of them and Martin will be gone, it was a truely painful watch. Bar 5 minutes in each half where we looked dangerous.

Well, they had three deadly finishes, all superbly done. Imagine having strikers like that Brilliantly contained us then splattered u asunder. Would have scored at least two more with a few more mins extra time

Ive now seen a team that beat us 3-0 at home described as "tripe".Now we feed our fast growing Pup on Tripe so maybe it's different down there. Am I dreaming all this? If people are at least seeing the light then I can die happy.

or to put it another way,a team is set up to counter our boring, tediou meaningless passing stats game, then they wait for the inevitablefark up then coolly take the chance offered unlike our striker at Rotherham. Second goal a case of a strong forward ,direct, blowing away a hapless MK star and stroking the ball past another MK clown. The third,a keeper beaten near post. Great strike though It was easy for Blackburn. Tripe or not. Tripe is very good for you

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 18:08 - Aug 6 with 1619 views | jasper_T | Plenty has been said about the deficiencies of Martin's football over the last year. We were told they needed a preseason, that we needed better players to make it function... A collection of nice-sounding ideas in theory that don't combine into anything beneficial in practice. Well-beaten by a manager whose own project is not even two months old.

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 16:47 - Aug 6 by union_jack | Leaving in droves I can see. This has got to be verbal warning time for Martin now. Clearly the system isn’t working and the players don’t seem to be buying into it. Beginning of the end for him I’d say now. |
I got home 20 mins ago but I waited a bit befoe posting, then I read this until your post. Listening to the others leaving around me, today may have been the day when Martin lost the majority of the crowd. People were discussing what to do instead or just slagging him off. Seriously now, can ANYBODY defend this? It was utter garbage. We are rubbish in attack and defence, all we are good for is passing the ball around in midfield, mostly pointlessly. The pace was such that Brian from the magic roundabout could have defended it. Martin made us promises he clearly cannot keep. This isn't entertaining, it is the antithesis of that. Martin is the Emperors new clothes, there is nothing to see. No pace, no imagination or skill, flair is something that gets set off in the crowd. There was a lot of booing today and a lot of people (myself included) left at the third goal. Martin is taking us backwards, a 15th place finish seems a tad optimistic after today because Martin refuses to compromise his principles, instead he seems happy to compromise our club. I'm waiting to hear his excuses because they will no doubt be wheeled out. We had 70% possession today and according to a radio journo, we passed ourselves to sleep. Our shadows moved faster than us as the sun mved across the sky. I did say I'd give him til Christmas well screw that. Martin needs sacking. Anybody who still wants to defend him is clearly deluded. he had 9 months last season, a full pre season and today, when we should have been fired up we mostly looked like a team playing a dead rubber waiting for the season to end so they could take their holidays.

Very true. Today was abject. Blackburn really weren't that good. What does that say about us ? So has Martin apologised yet ?

I hate to be boring but I have maintained, amongst much hate peech this fella is not only inept but dangerous to our club.He could kill us and easily take us down to MK level. I care not one sheete about the clowns who preen on here about how big a fan they are ;we need to stick together now ,be honest and admit this guy has kidded us ,or at least most of us. It is early season so we can get rid and start again . Piroe is shot to pieces and very unhappy,a is obvious.Martin is responsible. What to do 1 Remove Grimes as captain and if possible offer him to other clubs . 2.Bin Nuaghton, now the most overated of all our players 3.Make Allen captain ,if he is fit enough to play, although I doubt it as I believe nothing what Martin says. Joe might be crocked. 4. Play Bennett as a full on stopper 5.Remove the clown in goals .Enough . 6.Ntcham has talent but not the application.Another one who can FO 7. Lati the billiere.Just rip up his contract, same with Cullen. 8 Bring Joseph back into the fold ,same with Garrick and end their exile. 9. Abandon this ludicrous play form the back at all cot.We aint good enough

Good finishes, but the first? and third were absolute gifts. Both where we gave the ball away ridiculously cheaply and they countered. Piroe and Obafemi will score if given the chances Blackburn had.

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 17:09 - Aug 6 by LittleEnglandJack | I couldn't watch the game and I certainly think Martin out talk is premature, but it's clear we don't have the players for the system. We play a system that relies heavily on wingbacks to create chances, and don't have any decent ones. I'd normally say that Martin needs to acknowledge this and change the system, but what worries is me that we don't have the players for any other system either. The squad is practically devoid of any pacey, skillful players who run at defenders and can beat a man. If Martin was serious about changing the system to 4 at the back this year, the first priority aside from strengthening at centre half should have been signing some proper wingers. We haven't (yet). Oh to play 4-2-3-1 again... |
Spot on mate, unless we find some pacy WB soon we will struggle with what weve got. The thing is if we play four at the back we aint got any decent FB either.
