Trust questions to Dunphy on 19:13 - Apr 4 with 2213 views | Sandyman | These things are complex and will take time and negotiation. Hopefully as little time as possible because this club needs a change of direction from Bottomley's agenda ASAP. There are "new shares" that could be made available (as proposed for the Covid cancelled EGM last year) to bring money into the club. Something to sort out. That CD has frankly answered searching questions from fans so promptly is in stark contrast to what we get from the club now. Fans and shareholders alike have queried things going on at the club by letter and e mail and have been completely ignored by the so-called CEO who wouldn't even tell us about a failing manager's contract extension for months and still hasn't explained why it was given. Oh, I forgot, he's "hugely talented" in the CEO's emotional eyes. Someone can't see straight. Chris Dunphy has been a loyal and vastly experienced director for this club. He's not perfect but none of us are. Not one of us. The current CEO had no previous experience in football when he took the job and seems to been running the club on what will be a decent salary like a personal fiefdom. We've never had someone try to do that and for personal gain at Dale. That we are languishing at the bottom of the league, with the biggest divide between board and fans ever known is a testament as to how badly this club is being run. I feel sure that CD, given time, will be able to heal those divisions and get the club back on track. This has to be a chance worth taking because we're on the road to oblivion otherwise with such hapless hands on the wheel.

How do you view the recent "direction" James say even since Mr Dunphy left....do you think we've been told the truth, nothing going on behind the scenes,a brilliant product on the pitch, great response rate and attentiveness towards fans consistently? I could go on and on and fairly sure others could add a paragraph or a few chapters even

Rather than ask what our CEO has done wrong, maybe easier to try and name something he has done right! Other than a few half decent sound bites saying how covid has been brutal to smaller clubs I honestly can’t think of anything!

Surely the current members of the board room don't want the club to go in the direction of League Two or even lower. That ranges from incredibly risky to complete madness. Also regards attentiveness to fans if it is policy to be inattentive that is utter madness. Surely the mission statement isn't 'Rubbish on the pitch, treat the fans like shti'

On the pitch? Downwards Off the pitch? Downwards Whether or not that's the way the current board want to take the club, it's doubtless the way it's going. Since you're so great at asking questions, James, maybe you can answer one for a change: Which direction do you think the current board is taking the club?

I'm not trying to defend him or anyone on the current board. Clearly things aren't going very well on and off the pitch covid has probably exacerbated that. I'd say there is a big difference between where they want to take it and where it is going. I am sure there isn't a conspiracy to deliberately scuttle the club and sell off the land for it to become Spotland Retail park or an Amazon distribution centre. [Post edited 4 Apr 2021 20:20]

Whether it's their "mission statement" or not James that's exactly what's been going on and the lack of any real leadership or ability to do a specific job role has filtered its way directly on to the pitch....it's no little mistake either here and there it's consistently absolutely abysmal over a long period. It's not a coincidence where the club currently finds itself, it was predicted so by many at the same time CD was allegedly forced out of the club [Post edited 4 Apr 2021 20:23]

and so getting his majority at an EGM looks unlikely

I get the direction things are going is pretty bad. But when CD left surely that wasn't the way they wanted to take it yes I know it is where it has gone. I know I will get accused of over thinking but I'd really like to know what the planned direction was back in December 2018 that contributed to CD leaving. I am sorry for asking MORE questions Was/is CD for or against the whole 'modernisation' plan? Was the bringing in outside investment something he had issue with or felt/feels was necessary.

They have a "Plan" James Which they have failed to bother to elucidate to supporters, except to plead tearfully to trust them with it Doesn't that tell you something? [Post edited 4 Apr 2021 20:50]

Trust questions to Dunphy on 21:02 - Apr 4 with 1785 views | 49thseason | My guess as to how this might play out .. Andrew Kelly may become a non executive director with responsibility for the Academy if he is fit enough. Andrew Kilpatrick may also be asked to become a non exec too simply to tie in his shares behind the new Board. Ideally all the Directors will have responsibilities for key aspects of the business, just turning up to meetings is simply not enough, they need to be involved in eveything that twitches within the club until at least they are confident that the club is back on the tracks. Hence the interesting snippet about an audit. Dunphy clearly wants a much tighter grasp on the comings and goings of the cash, not just the bald numbers in the annual return. Without Kelly and /or Kilpatrick backing him, this could get bloody and every vote at an EGM could be vital. I rather think he must have the support of a decent number of shares just to get an EGM under way unless of course he is in the process of buying some from somebody. I don't know how many shares are required for an EGM. I doubt the current board will go without a fight so it won't end in a show of hands, it will need a count of shares for and against a proposal to remove the current board. Interesting times!

Your reply is all about "well that wasn't their plan or direction" the fact they are totally out of their depth and a certain someone wouldn't have got the CEO job under normal conditions, there was a certain inevitability about their destination regardless of the intent James

Yes and yes. It seems like the theory is the planned direction was/is destroy the club and take what we can from the carcass. But if that was the case why sack Hill? Why spend money on transfers? Also surely if that, was the plan, Chris Dunphy would not have remained silent about it exposed it to the other shareholders and called an EGM to have those with spurious intentions removed.

Trust questions to Dunphy on 21:09 - Apr 4 with 1759 views | pioneer | I dont know the ins and outs of boardrooms, AGMs, EGMs and the like but i know as a (tiny) shareholder I am offered the option of appointing a proxy for these meetings. I cannot attend myself because ofdistance so happy to see someone trustworthy appointed as my proxy when a meeting is organised, whether that be CD (should he be interested attending) or the trust. Would it be worth trying to oganise now for minor shareholders like myself to get their shares together into a single proxy voter for when the time comes?

No. The planned direction was for the club to be a vehicle for the advancement of the career of its CEO

Exactly that. You have the option of appointing a proxy who will vote per your wishes. CD may even approach shareholders like yourself and seek your support either to get an EGM underway and / or to support a resolution to replace the board. Obviously at an EGM there may be discussion and an opportunity to ask questions on the resolution for those who can attend. Or it might go straight to a vote firstly on a show of hands but by request of those present and more likely a count of shareholdings in favour or against the resolution presented to the EGM.
