I am starting to feel as if our scouting has improved to the point where we are in some cases the first to target a handy player, with other clubs then piling in to try to gazump us. Clearly, being first is no guarantee of success but it helps and it feels to me like a bit of progress for our crazy club.
In the past, it seemed that other clubs were always first to root out the truffle and we got involved very late on, almost deliberately so, so that we could say we tried but failed, secretly knowing that we were way too late.

Having watched the Sunderland documentary it looks a right pallarva to get a transfer ver the line.
Look how Sunderland got screwed over by Wigan for Will Grigg. The price just kept gpoing up and up
Paid a shedload of money they didnt really have for him and he played a bit part in their following season scoring about 5 goals.
