If Levy's paying £12.5m comp to do it now things really must have gone to pot behind the scenes. Possibly Bayern stirred it up further. That club statement is pretty unambiguously a sacking too.

For all the undeniable impact Poch had there their form this year has been absolutely rotten with the team doing none of what raised the bar for them four years ago (surely on Poch's instruction, or lack thereof). People will say it was just a rough patch but this was very much on the cards this summer anyway, they've clearly come to the end of a cycle and have a ton of work ahead of them.

Arguably if Ajax hadn't sh4t the bed in the CL semi this wouldn't even be this controversial today.

Amazing the progress that club has made. I think they’ll regret letting him go but 6 months out of a champions league final, new stadium and an England captain and they fire one of the best managers in the world at the first sign of slipping standards. Levy isn’t scared of the big decisions is he.

This bloke has had about 4 transfer windows without signing anyone he has got spurs to the champions league final , has had to play at Wembley for 2 seasons
