It was disappointing that the pleas over the tannoy before FT were completely ignored. You could see the looks of dismay on the faces of the ground staff who were about to go to work again.

Steve Morrison had to be escorted off by a steward whilst he continued to remonstrate with a pea brain who'd obviously riled him. Mighty fine player deserves a bit more respect in my opinion.

I would disagree about mighty fine player.Saw the guy play couple of weeks ago was a total disgrace pushing and shoving players getting another sent off and nearly caused a riot goading the Leeds fans.

Why on earth would anyone want to remember nonsense like that ? Bottling what ? I prefer to remember the various games and let the thugs and morons swirl about in their own cesspit of memories. There will always be a few.....

Dale beat Millwall. That matters far more. Some soon forgotten morons ran onto the pitch. Some won't even know who the Dale players were.

Rather than remembering all that shit - he would be better remembering Calvins performance last night and his immense contribution to getting us to the 5th round, his winner in the last round at Donny and his winner last Saturday - instead of abusing him on here whenever possible.

Should the club use cctv to get evidence and ban them ?
Would the club try to though !

On the local news this morning and the main bbc news it showed the supporters running on at the end but no mention of what they did.....

Few thoughts
* Talk of banning for running on is excessive. I'm sure a sizeable majority on here have done similar in years gone by (Darlo, Northampton, Cheltenham, Coventry, Stockport etc). It was a stupid move given the work thats took place on the pitch and the hours put in by many to get the pitch playable (and contributing to the victory), but it wasn't widespread hooliganism and shouldn't be treated that way.

* It was obvious with 2 or 3 mins to go that a pitch invasion was planned. We had insufficient stewarding to cope with that. Of all the opponents, a game against Millwall (irrespective of whether reputation is deserved) should not be that game. The goading of supporters was stupid, but again very much preventable. If fans from all three home sides were trying to get on, that would be difficult but approx 100-200 from one stand should not be an issue

* The steward being hit was a criminal act and should be treated as such. The club have a duty to their employees to protect. No one should be assaulted (rather than "slap") in doing their job.

get the images printed and a strong don't come back statement issued.

Any pitch invaders identified at further spotland games chuck em out!!

We really don't need them.

Its tough as the "singing section" did great in the game but some of this section were involved in the embarrassing scenes at FT.

I was talking with some of the drummer boiz who were great during the match. I was told most of them didn't go on the pitch and those that did - who that person knew - we're running to the 'Dale players and generally being tinpot. It's still wrong, but in the grand scheme of things not worthy of further punishment other than a telling off and final warning. As for the folk who tried to cause trouble with their fans, the ones who allegedly abused their players and the scumbag who was throwing punches at someone trying to do their job, they shouldn't ever be welcome back and the latter should be in the dock for assault. It wouldn't surprise me if many of those weren't regulars. They saw Millwall and cheaper ticket prices and decided to come.

‘Please sir, it wasn’t me’

When we scored, they all ran to the front to give it large to the Millwall fans and shove a couple of stewards.

With a few minutes to go they were the first to go to the front in readiness to invade the pitch. Others to the left followed their lead.

When it happened, the ones who went to goad came from the bottom right hand corner where they were.

Completely agree with this post - what was the point of doing that? It's always the same morons involved whenever there's any trouble.
Why should the reputation of the club (and the decent fans) suffer because of some brainless imbeciles who think they are well 'ard?!
The assault on the steward is absolutely disgusting and I hope that it gets dealt with accordingly.
Such a great game and great result for all true Dale fans, but why does it feel like the shine has been taken off it now - cheers to those 'fans' that only seem to turn up for a bit of hooliganism.

I've read a couple of newspaper reports of last night's win and both start off the article with reference to Harris's comments about our fans being a disgrace - this should have all been about our performance and how we've earned a very lucrative (hopefully) tie against Tottenham in the 5th round - instead the morons have spoiled a lot of last night's celebrations.

I've no problem with a pitch invasion but only under certain circumstances:

- Promotion if we've had to win the game to complete it (when the pitch doesn't resemble a crappy British holiday)
- Surviving Relegation on the final day with a win (when the pitch doesn't resemble a crappy British holiday)

Not for a well deserved 4th round win against a mid table championship team; you'd have thought we'd just won the damn cup!

Whilst the weather this morning is the main reason for today's PP the morons who invaded the pitch on Tuesday have not helped.

Thanks for nothing nob heads.

I am glad the club is looking at the cctv and doing something about the offenders.

I know I should let it go but I am so annoyed again today!.

The club cant issue banning orders only the court can do that. That will mean whoever gets banned will no doubt make the front page of the observer in a few months time and more bad publicity will be heaped on the club. While I don't encourage what happened those on here frothing at the mouth about it need to put it to bed.

Have a look at sections 1.1 and 1.2 of the clubs policy document with regards to ground regulations. It can be found on the official site under club/club policies/ground regulations.
I think you will find that individuals who contravene the two above sections can be prevented from attending by the club.

It's blindingly obvious! Any private place ie not public space has it's own rules designed by the owners.
They all have the right to decide who may be admitted and when.
I'm pretty sure I don't require a court order to prevent admission to my private dwelling!!

YOU do not have the right to give someone else permission to tell me what I can and can't do.

And how easy will that be to enforce? Do you think our stewards (many who only do the job to supplement their giro) are going to go around acting the nancy Drew working out who is banned and who isn't?

I don't like all this talk of banning people for running on the pitch and Dale fans grassing each other up.

It's not a question of the degree of difficulty in enforcement. You said that only the courts could ban individuals from a ground and that is clearly not correct.
You might not like the talk of banning people for running on the pitch but it's what they deserve for a variety of obvious reasons.
By the way who has said anything about Dale fans "grassing each other up"

I don't like idiots spoiling what should have been an enjoyable end to a magnificent win.

Identifying those responsible and banning them sends the correct message to any other pea brain who might think they are more important than the club.

If you were not one of the morons you have nowt to be worried about.

Oh I can assure you I have nowt to be worried about. Some of the dickheads goading the wall fans who are bragging about it on Facebook and the likes are a different matter and will end up receiving bans via the courts Im certain of that. I do agree with what you are saying but receiving a letter from the club saying you are banned means nowt when the means of enforcing it aren't there.

How to enforce ground bans.

1. Revoke season ticket
2. Inform all turnstile operatives
3. If they manage to sneak in, spot them on CCTV and eject them.

It’s not hard at all.
