Rotavators - I'm thing of buying one on 08:55 - May 1 by kropotkin41
Figs always used to be planted against walls in this country, they don't mind restricted roots. I can't see a fig worrying about a bit of root damage but I'm not a fig expert. Moving a big fig tree sounds like a nightmare job.
Thanks; roughly my line of thought. If anyone needs some big fig leaves for posing/ fancy dress, etc. let me know

I got wildlife coming out of me ears.Red Kites,Ravens, all kinds of hawks, otters, badgers, horses, cattle, sheep, ramblers. All of them with their hands, hooves, beaks out on the ear'ole. We're getting a Tescos soon, plenty of cheap produce and you don't have to wear a back brace and a surgical truss to "harvest" it.
We have one of these but the family wont sell as it was my father in laws before his death. the farmland is rented out so the tractor is not used but in mint condition.

Thanks for all the advice lads. I bought the Einhell 3336 online for £240 - next day delivery. Put it together, poured in oil and petrol, and it started first time. Just ploughed up a big bed - brilliant.
Not as easy to use as I imagined though. On firm ground it runs away from you on the surface, and on soft ground it stays in one place and digs itself towards the centre of the earth. Guess I'll get used to it.

My new garage development is next to a big, productive fig tree. Should I try and move it or just slice through the side of the root system? My mate has a rotavator.
Be careful with fig trees. If you get the sap on your skin, and it's a sunny day, you can get some really nasty burns. Phytophotodermatitis. Wear gloves and long sleeves.
