Big Fred?

Any one know what happened to Fred Pickering? He was one of Pools better center forwards from the late 60`s into the early 70`s, I remember he was transferred, but don`t recall where he went, any one know what became of him?

To start shooting Clark down. Hes only been with these players for three days, what do people expect was going to happen, a win, a miracle? Blackpool fans have no patience, there is time to pull it around and when the team finally gets it together and a decent midfielder is brought in, the strikers will start to function. Its was always a catch up scenario and Clark might not be the new Sir Alex, but he does need a chance to prove his worth.

Don`t understand why so many punters don`t want Lee Clark. He`s a new young manager with a promising start to his manager career at Huddersfield, had a good win/lose record, than left to manage Birmingham, where he did not do so well. But, he`s only managed 2 clubs, yet everyone seems to have a grudge against, why?

Well what quality is still out there on the free market, who would be a quality signing for us? Heard Chris Eagles is still free, can he still do a job? Come on Loans or free agents, who`s out there?

Who do you think we do a Portsmouth and go down the plughole? I would suggest, Bolton, Fulham and Blackburn, all like spending money like water.

Not easy on Tuesday.

Tuesday night won`t be easy against Watford. They`ll be coming to Pool knowing what to expect and so they will be at there best. Pool will have to be better from now on and hopefully the players are bonding and understanding each other, but we still need a touch of quality that hopefully will be Cubero and Mellis(when fit). Is Cubero able to play now, is the visa sorted? But I thing we may still win 2-1, should Riga play the same team as Sat.

Whats going on, no new posters, no new players rumoured to be arriving. All very quiet on the western front. Is there any news at all. Or will the next news be Riga and Oyston facing up on the beach with pistols at 20 paces! Could be interesting.

Just out of curiosity, have Pool ever had so many foreigners in the squad before. I can`t remember a Pool team with so many, but I don`t think it a bad thing and I reckon there maybe more to come in.

Hi. I`m a newbie to AVFTT. Been reading the posts on the old site for awhile now, some interesting comments been banded about. I am must certainly NOT in the know and don`t claim to know any one from the club and close to it. Been a fan of the Mighty Pool since me dad took me to watch Pool take on Arsenal in the FA Cup on a cold wintery night in 69 or 70 and thanks to a very late score by Micky Burns we won 3-2. He took me to watch the 4th round tie against Mansfield at home which we lost 0-2, crazy. I`ve only been to 5 games in all during that period because of unforeseen events I could not go to any more, but have been a loyal fan thru thick and thin. Let it be know that I am NOT pro Oyston, and never will be. There, I have arrived.
