| Forum Thread | And still they kiss his backside at 17:17 25 Apr 2015
There is only 1 person to blame for this, its not Redknapp or Ramsay. The man who failed to act when action was needed did nothing to change the manager with the right man at the right time when others did. and sat on his hands in the transfer window, too busy with his embarrassing little tweets. Well I hope the backside kissers got their re-tweets. Tony Fernandes Cha-cha-cha-cha-cha! |

The nominees..... Tony Fernandes QPR Rather than trying to be popular by buying the fans a couple of pints and dropping ticket prices Mr Fernandes needed to show leadership, strong leadership as custodian of a great club established 133 years ago. He arrived at QPR preaching that Football needs to run itself more like a business and within its means. After a few weeks he was throwing his money around like a kid in a sweetshop, problem was the sweets were out of date and left a rotten taste. Relegation followed, then after a mediocre season in the Championship QPR scraped back into the PL. Don't get me wrong its tough punching your weight in the PL unless your one of the big boys and again things were proving difficult. While some clubs held there nerve (Newcastle - Pardew), others acted (West Brom - Pulis) Fernandes master plan was to stick Mr Redknapp, trouble is Redknapp was not silly and after QPR did nothing in the transfer window he bolted as fast as those knees would take him. During this time Fernandes came up with a master plan. He decided to appoint a QPR legend (who after playing for about 5 clubs claimed to be a Spurs fan) with ZERO EXPERIENCE as director of football. Then armed with his new director of football the decision was made to focus on bringing players through from the youth squad, wow what visionaries! Problem is the QPR youth teams are currently playing in the 3rd tier. OK, director of football in place, now lets get a new manager with ZERO EXPERIENCE for a relegation dog fight in one of the toughest leagues in the world. Now what Mr Fernandes is good at is business apparently, so QPRs shirt sponsor is now Air Asia, are QPR maximising their income? did Tony drive a hard bargain on the clubs behalf when he negotiated with himself? ask yourself who gets the best deal out of that? I bet I can guess. To be fair its not unique, Peter Coates (BET365) at Stoke has done similar, however I get the impression Mr Coates is more of a Philanthropist. When Fernandes submitted his accounts for 2013/14 to the football league he was getting his excuses in early. So now the business guru has just chucked about £60m in the bin as loan write offs to avoid a big FFP fine. Then there is the Caterham deal, the buyers effectively pulled out accusing Mr Fernades of not transferring the shares, why I ask has Fernandes not gone after them in court if all was above board? Recently he seems to have lost a bit of interest, his last tweet about his beloved R`s was nearly 2 weeks ago, (a life time for a prolific tweeter) when he posted a picture of himself by a road sign for Loftus Street with the line "Come on your Rangers" The PR machine rolls on at full speed planning pie in the sky stadia (that keeps getting smaller). #keeprswestlondon or whatever it was seemed like some sort of blackmail It read to me as ... #unlessyougetbehindthisprcampaignimightmoveyourcluboutofwestlondon What is amazing is that the fans sing his name like some sort of god, what other chairman get his name sung at matches????? Still QPR could be in a worse mess, it could be Caterham. |
