His mind must be on rumoured transfer to the scum, he has had a nightmare game today

Look, Green's kicking is poor, always has been. I think posters on here have even made jokes of it. As a keeper a goal kick from your hands is bread and butter goalkeeping. He must have kicked thousands of them in his time. He has to do better in such a key game. I'd also add that he regularly does defensive throw outs which put us under pressure as well as frequently struggling to reach the half way line with his kicks. Distribution is certainly not Greens strong point. That said, a basic footballing education will teach you to face the ball. What Isla did not facing up from a goal kick was a basic error. Greens shot stopping is also first rate and it's won us points this year although for the dropped point today both isla and Green are at fault for me.

It was a drop kick not a goal kick. If it was a goal kick i would agree players should be facing towards the keeper, this was the 87th min in a game the players had run there bollocks off. Like most i'm sure Isla was hoping Green would hold on to the ball for a few seconds so they could get the breath. As the pundit on sky says all the QPR players were walking up to the half way line and were surprised to turn around and find the Scum on the attack.

Sh1t happens and I'm not going to hang Green out to dry. That said I thought he was very hesitant first half and on two or three occasions was very slow coming off his line.

it was a poor kick that got worse as the wind held it back even more ,chelski reacted to it far better half our players turned as if (oh no ive got to go all the way back again!) instead of busting a gut

that said the goalkick wasn't the goal it still had to be collected taken down the wing then squared to a chelski player to shoot that's 3-4 phases of play in which we had a chance to stop the goal ,cant help wondering as to where the shot came from was that sandros area before he went off

yes green gets the blame but no more than phllips who for me missed the best chance of the game

we more then held our own and the chelski one was going ape trying to get more out of his team, barton motm for me was everywhere

Listen to the band play!

You have a point but to be fair to the players they had run their socks off and did not expect Green to make such an unnecessary mistake.

We aren't in the position that we are in because Green made a cock up of that clearance. He fcuked up. He knows it. Move on, he has been pretty effin decent again this season. If we can show that passion and determination we will get out of the mess. Ps thought acquirer was awesome today. Had Dogbah in his pocket all afternoon.

In the old days the goalie kicked through the ball. Watch Phil Parks. Bounce and wallop - off it goes into the sunset, pick that out Don Givens. These days goalies slice through the ball, the danger being you incorrectly slice as Green did today. Even worse to get it wrong against a strong wind. I'm surprised you don't see this more. I think I have but only in non-league.

OP is ridiculous and shameful

1. Green bass played brilliant all season. One mistake and you are going to attack him!

2. Yes, the kick was terrible, but he still had tones to do. Getting the ball 40 yards out, out wide, is not a goal. He went through our defense like it wasn't there. That wasn't just Green. That was a team effort.

3. Some people just love to pile on when things go wrong. WTF are you on!

I was the one on here that was calling for Green to get an England call up and got slated by most on here, i'm a big fan of Rob Green.

as for ......One mistake and you are going to attack him, it was more then one mistake today imo, his kicking, throwing coming off his line were all poor today. Scum had 1 shot on target today so you cant knock his shot stopping but keeping is so much more then shot stopping.

I am not a professional keeper...or even a goalkeeper at any level. I honestly don't think if i had a 100 kicks from my hand, that i would miss hit one that badly..under zero pressure.. not raining etc..
Agreed the kick itself didn't put the player directly in on goal, and probably against another team he would have gotten away with it..but you can't gift teams like Chelscum that type of possession.
The margin between Fabregas getting his shot off and a tackle coming in was very small...thought Phillips could have made more of a lunge.. and Green still could have saved it
oh well. pretty much sums up what its about being at the bottom, compared with at the top...and how small the margins are. Benteke's free kick hits the post, Green doesn't misckick that kick...and we would be sitting in a much different position..

This is the QPR way, play brilliantly but one mindless action and lose. Green fits in perfectly as he often plats well but one or two mindless clangers a season...

On bright side we might have him next season as Chelsea def won't buy him

Overall Green has had a very good season and earnt the rights to some slack on this occasion.

However his kicking has worried me for a very long time it's embarrasingly poor. He should have worked harder on his technique over the years.

The thing is he has always done one thing that's criminal - out of hands he swings his leg out wide, like a hooked volley. As opposed to the regular up and under all other keepers use. It's a technique dodgy South American keepers use. It's always a disaster waiting to happen and today was one of those disasters.

Let him go, give the other keeper a chance. Lets rid ourselves of our overpaid players.

Greeno , you have saved our bacon a number of times and pulled off some great saves in you time but I'm sorry why oh FCKING why would you do another one of those poxy slice kicks at such a point in the game , in the situation we find our selfs in against our rivals ????

Put your FCKING foot through the ball for once ffs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ps , do not even FCKING attempt one of those videos for the qpr player where you spout bollox about giving it your all in the next game !

Pps , if that was joey Barton there would be burning effigies hanging from trees all along South Africa road after that

But then Barton (who was probably motm btw) *did* have a howler with his hollywood would-be lob when he could have played Austin in. But being in that part of the pitch mistakes aren't punished so harshly.

Are you sure that he isnt paid too much. I mean, all that money for how many appearances?

What exactly will make you happy, apart from being relegated and a self-righteous pat on the back for forecasting such an outcome.

We may not be very good, but we are finally putting up a fight... which has happened under Ramsey's watch

Oh... and being entertained. I dont like losing, and particularly to the Scum, but that was a good and well referred game

He also screwed up against Villa by telling the wall not to jump. Todays mistake was self inflicted in a game where there was no room for error.

I really can't believe this thread - without Rob Green we'd be dead and buried months ago. OK, his kick wasn't great - but our defense should have dealt with the situation. Get off his back!

They are not Gods Rich, as well as praising them when they do well we are also allowed to criticize there mistakes, guess what i called Charlie a bad word when he missed the pen against Hull.

We will all love him again when he makes yet another world class save, but for today his mistake cost us ( imo ) a game against the scum.

Rob Green is a flawed keeper end of.

He is a world class shot stopper but he is reluctant to come off his line quickly and his distribution is poor.

He had already played (mishit) the ball into touch twice trying to find MP.

Unfortunately he is also also prone to clangers. .

I know almost nothing about the Premier League even though I try to catch the big games every now and then at the end of the season. But I will say this, Queens Park Rangers is just a fukking sick ass team name. Just sounds so cool.

Tells the wall not to jump against Villa, costing us 2 points.
Costs us another point today with a schoolboy error.

At last a bit of common sense!!!
Amazing how someone can go from hero to zero so quickly, and Barton is being lauded at the new Zidane today!

Some QPR fans love scapegoats more than fat kids love chips.

Never been a massive fan of his, but i'm not gonna slag Green for today's error.

More good than bad in him.

Incidentally why do some keepers now kick the ball on the half volley? What happened to the good up and under?
